Yes, the filters... hmmm... there is some room for improvements (more types)
The scorpio with eg. the black LP style are not bad. No idea if they are modeled after something.

I'd say filters combined with the envelopes are top notch. Haven't cranked the resonance up too much yet, but for plucked synth sounds I find Spire's filters are some of the best. For bleepy reso stuff I use SH-101 and SH-2 (emulations).

Yep, totally agree. There's really very little not to like about the filters/envelopes. Sounds very modern, plucky, snappy however you want to call it to me.raymondwave wrote:I'd say filters combined with the envelopes are top notch. Great synth!
It is capable of much more then EDM.
Here is an example of some soundtrack work.
All synth parts were done with Spire and "Electronic Symphonic" presets.

Patch is so right. Spire is highly versatile. The UI is a joy to work with. It really is a great synth. Just seemed to come out of nowhere and took the world by storm.
Here are some more juicy synthy sounds from spire:

im still struggling with the idea of getting a new generation wavetable synth or not, i got NEMESIS, Gladiator and Massive. Spire sounds and looks so good (easy controllable), Serum is very interesting too!

Not sure if Spire is worth it for the wavetable sounds alone, there are surely synths which are better equipped in that regard. There's only a couple, as already been mentioned, a bit weird wavetables included. IMO.Caine123 wrote:im still struggling with the idea of getting a new generation wavetable synth or not, i got NEMESIS, Gladiator and Massive. The selection is reminiscent of the Ensoniq ESQ-1 to me. In a good way.chk071 wrote:Not sure if Spire is worth it for the wavetable sounds alone, there are surely synths which are better equipped in that regard. Loving to hear the contributions in this thread. Spire certainly is a rare synth, worthy of the hype. Here are some thick analogue-esque tones direct from Spire:

I wouldn't really class Spire as a wavetable synth, more like a VA with some exotic waveforms and interesting morphing options.

Agree with above, there are many better options for wavetable stuff, which in my opinion should be able to scan through a proper "table of waves". Spire afaik can only morph a selected waveform with a couple of parameters, or?

Spire can pretty much do anything.

Fair enough. I found the wavetables in Largo to be much better and versatile. The choir stuff in Spire is quite okay though.Phase47 wrote:The selection is reminiscent of the Ensoniq ESQ-1 to me.
