Something more simple, calm, consonant and ambient:
Processing three MachFive instances of tempo-synced cello pizzicato ostinato loops (each loop up to 14 bars long always playing the accent on the one of a 4/4 bar) from my library Ambient Strings - each loop playing a different note from Eb major - Eb1 - B1 - G2 - one instance of Kaleidoscope on each cello track with different chordal tunings (Eb major/Gmin7/Bbsus), and one instance on a Bus for droning reverb-like ambience in Eb, B2 reverb added on a Bus, some Endless Series applied to high frequency band in the mddle of the track in the post processing in RX3 and also some Uhbik flanging at the very end. Four instances of KS played quite nicely without hickups in real time, while producing this.

I started a moderated Kaleidoscope-group on Soundcloud, so if you want to share some KS experiments or music made with KS, please join - but don't post DnB tracks where only the hihat was processed by KS which no one is ever going to notice, only tracks where KS plays a prominent role.

Real smooth, Simon I like those formant-y characteristics... I assume that's KS doing some kind of combing? Nice pieceSampleconstruct wrote:Something more simple, calm, consonant and ambient:

The combing-like FX in the very high frequency range which enters after 30 minutes or so is Endless Series in Flanger-FX-mode, I applied it in RX3 Advanced after trimming the mix.

Back to FIR-mode, processing some female gibberish, pretty weird stuff:

Nice! Reminds me of Telephasic Workshop. FIR-mode; I know it means finite impulse response, but in the case of KS, does this represent only using the pre-resonator image for processing (I see you have the post-resonator image off, just wondered if that's what FIR-mode indicates here)

You can use both images In-Out in FIR mode too, I just wanted to keep it simple here and tweak things in real time in only one engine to explore the characteristics.synzh wrote:Nice! OK thanks, I RTFM also and I see FIR in this case refers to the resonators themselves - so FIR mode being less of the overlapping ambient wash variety and more of the finite number of echos variety.
I think I'd seen that when you enable the image on the output, it causes the resonators to sound more closely in line with the tuning waveform and less (or none at all) in tune with the input sound.

As far as I can tell, it's just two octaves of an Eb major triad. I think the power in those last moments are more attributed to the "boldness of attack" Geoffrey Rush goes on about in Shine ... plus, the brass section really brings it home ... and the clarinets put it to bed. Thanks for the link

OSX and Ableton Live - KS and B2 Audio Units Components are not playing very nicely together. Luckily the VST versions are playing together like good children. I'll send crash logs.

Hi there
I already downloaded the demo and tried to use it in Reaper. But for some reason it doesn't output any sound at all, it actually mutes the stream down the line!
I also set the library directory, and still doesn't work!
I already own Aether btw, so I'm pretty sure we're good for any administrator permission issues caused by windows.
Would someone help me with this?
Thanks in Advance

I think it was mentioned earlier in this topic, but I wanted to confirm it is very quick and easy to save image files from ArtMatic to use in KS, and you can come up with some spectacular ones. I also easily imported .scl tuning files from Metasynth into KS. In both instances I found - with the demo at least - that the first import attempt failed, because I need to manually create User/My Images or Tunings folders into which to import...

I've had AV1for MS for years....any break on buying the KS formatted version?
Galbanum wrote:AV01 KS will NOT work with Metasynth.aMUSEd wrote: If I buy Architecture too will it also work in Metasynth?
The original AV1 will of course.
I can make some kind of small "add another format" charge, like I have for Architecture Waveforms. Let's say $25 for AV1 if you want both AV1 for KS and AV1 for MS. You can do that after the fact. Does not need to be in the same purchase if you like.
