Hello,
This is a weird question but hopefully the great people at KVR can help. I'm really digging the idea of having a vocal processing unit for live performance, and TC helicon VoiceLive seemed like a great option. However, I do not like nor will ever use many features on the VoiceLive3 (Harmonies to me sound fake and would rather use live backing tracks, have no need for a looper or all the guitar effects, etc) and thus feel like I would be paying a premium for functionality I would never use.
Are there any sort of similar units out there with pitch correction, doubling / thickening, and vocal effects like reverb, delay, modulation, etc? Does TC Helicon even make a vocal unit without harmonies? Thanks in advance for any recommendations.
P.S. I'm also thinking of possibly doing all this in the box with a midi foot controller or pre-programed sequence in Logic or Cubase. Anyone with experience running a computer live? I'm even considering using a synced up Logic session live which would control our lighting as well as our effects (i.e. that big delay at the end of a verse, or that grungy distorted vocal during the bridge, etc are all automatically triggered via automation in the sequence.) Or is it best to try to play everything live via pedalboard effects?
TC Helicon vocal effects unit WITHOUT harmonies?

Honestly? The TC stuff sounds so much better than everything else that you are better off using the Voicelive even if you aren't using the harmony effects. Even the mic pre and compression are pretty damn good on that thing.
I'm the best you can get, have you guessed me yet? I'm the slime oozing out from your TV set.

Harmonies sound fake to you but not pitch correction? Or are you meaning really really mild and subtle correction?
The thing is with voice effects, harmonies are one of the key features of voice effects units. When you have the other processing features present (doubling, pitch correction, modeling, etc), harmony features are there by default. It makes no sense not to have presets for it. I don't think you will find a hardware unit that specializes in voice processing that eschews harmony features.
