...i will certainly add one or more track on your blog later, to be honest a good occasion to, as said in frensch
" se sortir les pouces du cul ! " (a harsh way to say you need to make some effort...)

Thank you, it's not my blog, it just a SC group which I dare to moderate so it doesn't get instantly flooded with EDM trash.

Hey! :x I like a lot of EDM. :o I am actually on a Grammy Association committee that deals specifically with dance music. And still do some myself sometimes.

It's not all bad these days. A lot of people do really great work. And I'm excited to hear KS used in dance music! Maybe with more creative tools like KS we will hear less supper saws, snare rolls, and sweeps?? Or at least more creative ones. :tu:

Nothing wrong with some good dance music.

That said, of course I also love serious/intellectual/experimental electronic and classical music too. Some classical people might say the same about "electronic" or "new age" material. I'm not one of them. I'm not a purist. I love it all. And I'm a Gemini so there are lots of MEs that I must keep happy.

so I say, bring on the KS EDM... (just turn down the snare rolls and sirens. :D )

Well, your evaluation of EDM does not have to be in tune with mine at all :)
The Soundcloud disease of flooding every group available with 4 on the floor supersaw noise mixed at an RMS level of +120 dB is what I will prevent in that group - nothing else, I was not into starting a discussion of musical styles as this is obsolete and leads nowhere, the best thing is to agree on disagreeing when it comes to comparing musical preferences - IMHO. I haven't heard "good dance music" in many years and I do try to listen to the radio when driving my car.

Kyma 7 with Wacom tablet as a gestural noise source for KS. This is an area that I will be exploring a lot more.
Sorry for the low quality shaky video shot with my iPhone.

Radio almost never has ANYTHING good. At least here in USA. hmm... maybe I am some kind of purist...

Don't worry, we agree about super saws at +120dB. :D

here is something "good" IMHO (and it was even on the BBC!):

ya, listened to that one a couple days ago actually!

pretty much anyone who has ever been associated with Reniaance, GU, Bedrock, etc is prob "good" by my definition... ;-)

GU 40 Solomun, Hamburg Release Date: August 24, 2014, is also great.

one KS, one Breeze. Internal white noise generator was the source sound... i.e there was so input signal...

loving this Sasha mix! Really creative unusual stuff in there. JZ's essential mix is pretty fantastic too.

This is stunning,..!

...i'm wondering in such a case though, what would be the room for any instrument of such a effect as insert with dry/wet balance ...likely to consider both harmonical and structural (rhythmical) bounds as well some timbral similitude to keep (perhaps to contrast) between instrument/soundsource and the strings model of KS ....likely to keep a balance between white noise ans input source

i assume you also considered live performance for KS ...with and/or without grounding Beat ?

Anyway...here my very first contribution, still at work (i need to load back my arsenal after a HD crash) , involving two instances of KS one on Ultrabeat and more significant, one on AD Axon (VERY interesting combination for complex rhythmic parts) ...that rules the overall ambiance rhythmically and harmonically :

Version 1.0.2
Date: 03/01/2015

Fixed in 1.0.2:
  • Retina Display issues affecting some Mac models.
  • Improvements to general GUI responsiveness on OSX
  • Fixed an issue with BPM Tuning modes which was introduced in 1.0.1 and effectively had broken Delay FX presets.
  • New preference: Mod Position Show/Hide. Hiding the mod position tracker can save further CPU resources on Retina Display Macs if needed.
  • Other misc fixes/optimizations.
Special introductory pricing will be extended two weeks until March 15, 2015 to allow everyone to try KS now that everything is working completely properly!

...and to thank everyone for helping us to make this the most successful product launch we have done so far, even with the previous minor annoyances that have now been fixed... Deep thanks! :tu:

Fixed previously in 1.0.1:
  • Dramatically improved efficiency for String Resonators.
  • Additional improvements to efficiency for all other aspects of the algorithm.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented proper use with systems that had more than 16 physical cores.
  • Additional misc fixed and enhancements.
Both the DEMO and FULL versions have been replaced.

OSX DEMO:

Hi Andrew,

Just a head's up: there's something wrong with the 32-bit version of KS1.0.2 (OSX). Live crashes after displaying a message about a missing entry point. The 64-bit version works fine in Logic and Live (64-bit). Preferences are still blown away after the install process *sigh*.

This is necessary for various reasons... it is not a bug.
