Anyone know WHY that trick works?

It suggests that on Mac at least the differences between VST and AU may sometimes just come down to an extension and where they are placed. I have managed the same trick in reverse with Concrete FX Kubik which didn't have an AU version but renaming the VST as AU worked.

Damn... this sounds way good! ...better than a number of er, expensive synths I currently own. I really don't need another....

Is Share-It the most pathetic online payment middleman or what?
Answers on a postcard to...
First they think I'm a criminal, WRONG!...that gets rectified, and now they don't want me to pay for something?
Wish there was another option that wasn't so

There are some libraries (I'm pretty sure WDL has this feature) to develo plugins which enable the developer to create multiple target (vst, au) out of the box. As far as I understand, the build exposes the methods required by both interfaces, so it's recognized both as au and vst.DJMaytag wrote:Anyone know WHY that trick works?
To be honest I don't know much about it because I'm not into vst coding (I'm somehow interested but I have not time/will at the moment, so I just scratched the surface of the subject and never went deep into it), so I may be wrong on something...
I'm glad to read that Sunrizer is recognized as vst by just changing the file extension, now I have to try it and I'm almost sure I will end up buying a license...

All of Sknote's plug ins work in this way: delivered as (Mac) VSTs and then you just need to replace 'vst' with 'component'.
Works in all hosts I've tested – except Tracktion…

So, I briefly tried it and it sounds good, it's really clean and it has a very lush chorus/phaser.
My only problem is I already have a lots of VA and I haven't dig deep enough with them... still, I'm impressed by Sunrizer. I'm very undecided.

What I like about Sunrizer, apart from a wide and interesting sound palette, is that it's accessible – with simple, logical controls, easy to tweak and very playable.

I, like others, advise you to listen to a couple banks of Alba Ecstacy's sounds for Sunrizer to help you make your decisionsin night wrote:So, I briefly tried it and it sounds good, it's really clean and it has a very lush chorus/phaser.

For those who have already made the right decision, his website has several free patches for Sunrizer.
