Mr Jean-Michel Jarre

" My 2 favorite analog synths are probably the VCS3 and the Synthex.
Today the XILS 4 is one of my favourite plugin..!!
I find the same excitement working with it, than with the original, plus lots of other features.. 2 Vcs3 interconnected sequencer.. Etc the sound is great and it is one of the best in the market for experimenting new ways of creating sounds ..!!
I just got the miniSyn'x and I am so excited as well because the Synthex is a fantastic rarity.
Thank you to XILS LAB to give every one the possibility to play with them..!"

So when this emulates something we all know!

Where are the original factory patches of the hardware?

I dont understand why they not inside, this is the first that has to be needing there !!!

I don`t understand always there are presets that nobody needs in the library :( ?

Dosent matter if the factory patches are good or not.

But the sound of this plugin is very good :tu:

This was played real time. No double tracking or anything.

Essentially I split the keyboard between an ARP and a lead. 2 voices on the ARP and 4 voices on the lead. I tried making the sounds far enough apart using the multi layers but still make them "fit together".

Let me tell you. This is one FAT synth.

Xavier, what can I tell you. You're stuff is the bees knees.

Nice. I dont know why but your part made me think of Italo Disco :wheee: . The Synthex beeing Italian, I think that a good part of the Italo Disco tracks during these years might incorporate some Synthex.

Downloaded the Demo version, when I opened it up in FL studio, it was aksing for a serial number / code, any idea why this is happening ? I get a GUI of the parameter knobs, but no keyboard and no sound until I enter the serial number, I thought a demo did not need anything like that. :?

Just an idea : Could it be possible that you DLed the full version instead of the demo version ( they are on the same page so ... ) ?

Hello Drew!

At the top right corner, open the menu "Info" then "Syn'X About". If you have downloaded and installed the demo version... then it will tell you that just under the logo Syn'X.
:D

You have also the information in big black letters just at the left of the keyboard.

By the way, the grey strip (where this information is) which is running throughout the width of the synth just above the keyboard... this grey strip is weird. At its right extremity it seems 3D but not at its left extremity where the word "Demo" is placed. It gives a strange impression of a detail which has been forgotten in the design of the GUI.

I like that this, like Oxium, is less a "jack-of-all-trades" synth and more like an specific instrument. (I realize it's an emulation so that's was the design intent.) IMO there's a certain feeling to a software instrument having a specific character that makes it feel more like hardware, as in "I want that sound, gonna fired that up." Not that I dislike having some gear that has 30 different filters, etc., but this is priced perfect for what it is.
I'm also much more inclined nowadays to use 'specialised' synths than *swiss knife* synthesizers. I think that, as soon as one has more than a few synths, the ones with a strong and unique character and identity are more desirable.

That's a perfect description of how I feel about synthesizers !

Yes - unique sounding, somewhat, specialized synths are indeed way more desirable then those that tries to do everything. Sometimes the ambitions of the later ends up with that they doesn't really do anything really good.

It's a little like going to the bakery for the bread and the greengrocers for the vegetables rather then to the supermarket to get it all in tiny plastic bags. The former is at least what I suspect a good cook to do. :-)
