Recently picked this up after A/B numerous string libraries and I have to admit very disappointed at the high octaves. they sound pretty out of tune on some notes and also, could they not of really made each articulation full scale range? I also have Albion but have not used it yet. I was hoping to use each side by side. now don't get me wrong the sound is good not great but I hate the note range limitation and the out of tune high pitch issues. I was thinking of getting spitfire solo strings also, as i fell in love with the demo.

Odd. No idea what you mean about note range limitation. I do find some of the divisi note tuning a little off in isolation, but I've not noticed anything when they're combined either in unison or using auto-divisi.
In general I find the programming superior to every other library I have - incredibly smooth velocity and legato transitions.

Er... They're all the correct range for each instrument.damayor wrote:I am talking you cant go all the way up or down if you want real high notes or real deep notes.

The high end strings (the real expensive stuff) is realistically mapped. A violin, cello, bass, etc., only go so far up and down. This is the norm for "good" orchestral strings.damayor wrote:I am talking you cant go all the way up or down if you want real high notes or real deep notes.

i am not a film scorer or musician in terms of orchestral. excuse my ignorance....i was used to using cheaper instruments where you can go as high as dog hearing only notes and deeper then barry white's voice.

Well, now you know with good strings you can't. If you want to go real high and low, use synth strings.damayor wrote:i am not a film scorer or musician in terms of orchestral. excuse my ignorance....i was used to using cheaper instruments where you can go as high as dog hearing only notes and deeper then barry white's voice.

In any event, on those cheaper systems, you have very few samples being transposed up and down. So it is faked. The higher end samples you have the actual samples for each note in their expected range.
