Here comes the release info for set 55:

Iris Subscription Set Set 55 uploaded on February 22nd - 2015 containing 10 presets (318.5 MB) including:

Ebow Dreamer Split
Three different excerpts from a long e-bowed electric guitar impro processed in real time with various effects, later cut and edited. S2 is mapped from C3 upwards (C4 and above), S2/3 are layered between C-1 - C3 (C0 - C4 in Iris), S1/2 are running in Non-Retrigger mode. Control the volume of S3 using Macro 5, add pan modulation to S3 and control pan mod speed with M6/7. The Modwheel introduces temposynced amplitude modulation in S1/2. Check the Macro page for more controls.

Ebow Lead And Phrase Split
An excerpt from a long e-bowed electric guitar impro processed in real time with various effects, later cut and edited - S1/2 are using different segments from the same sample split across the keyboard, a lead sound in the upper region playing in Non-Retrigger mode and a rising phrase in the lower half, split point: B2/C3 (B3/C4 in Iris). Glide is activated. Add pan modulation with the Modwheel, control pan mod speed with Macro 4. M2 (y) controls pitch of the lead sound, M1 (x) adds screaming distortion, M3 controls LP cutoff, M5 controls amount of delay FX.

Ethereal Glass
A beautiful tonal, glass-like texure made with Kaleidoscope and other things, the same long sample is used in S1/2, S1 running in Non-Retrigger mode playing the full frequency picture, S2 playing in reverse/forward mode with a more selective spectral sound. The x/y-pad (Macros 1/2) lets you balance the oscillator volumes. The Modwheel adds noise-shaped pitch modulation, please check the Macro page for more controls.

Ethereal Layers
An animated, dense, tonal, string-like texture made with Kaleidoscope and other things, the same long sample is used in all 3 oscillators playing different segments and spectral aspects, S1/3 running in Non-Retrigger mode, each oscillator has a dedicated volume control (Macros 3-5). The Modwheel introduces temposynced, triplet-based amplitude modulation to S1/3, pan modulation can be added to S2 with M6, control pan mod speed with M7. Check the Macro page for more controls.

Flutewind Drone
Mysterious drone texture made by processing one of my Serum patches with Kaleidoscope and other things, the same sample is used in both oscillators playing different segments and spectral aspects, S2 running in Non-Retrigger mode. Control the balance of the sounds with the Modwheel (S1 full picture -> S2 selective picture). With Macro 2 dialed down, the filter envelope modulates the LP cutoff. Add noise-shaped pitch modulation using M3, please check the Macro page for more controls.

Galactic Ebow Split
An excerpt from a long e-bowed electric guitar impro processed in real time with various effects, later cut and edited - the same sample is used in S1/2 split across the keyboard, overlapping split point: C3 (C4 in Iris), S1 running in Non-Retrigger mode. The Modwheel introduces temposynced amplitude modulation (different shapes and speeds for each osc), with Macro 2 (y) dialed down, temposynced filter modulation is introduced, control the modulation speed with M1 (x). Check the Macro page for more controls.

Major Harmonics Split
An animated, perforated, tonal, string-like texture in major7 made with Kaleidoscope and other things is used in all three oscillators, S1/2 are layered between C3 - C7 (C4 - C8 in Iris), S3 - running in Non-Retrigger mode - plays btween C-1 and C3 (C0 - C4 in Iris). Control the volume of S2 using Macro 3. Macro 8 introduces temposynced, square-shaped pitch modulation in all oscillators, +/- 1 octave with M8 fully engaged. The Modwheel introduces temposynced, random-shaped filter modulation. Check the Macro page for more controls.

Minority Split
in the lower keyboard half a mysterious tonal soundscape is layered in S1/3, in the upper half a choir-like texture is used, overlapping split point is C3 (C4 in Iris). All samples are running in Non-Retrigger mode, Glide is activated. The Modwheel adds a tad of vibrato to S1/2, S3 has a slow amplitude modulation applied. With Macro 2 (y) dialed down, slow filter modulation is introduced, please check the Macro page for more controls.

Phythagoras Ocean Split
In the upper keyboard half a beautiful, submerged, water-like tonal texture is playing in S3, in the lower half different segments and spectral aspects of a dark drone texture are layered - overlapping split point is C2 (C3 in Iris), all oscillators are running in Non-Retrigger mode. Macro 2 introduces amplitude modulation in all oscillators at different speeds, M2 also shifts pan position of S1/2 to L-R so the layers are more separated from each other. Add delay FX with M3, control release time with M4. The Modwheel decreases LP cutoff, adds aliased distortion and chorus FX.

Vocal Phrase Duet Split
Every now and then I have to sing, so here is a patch using 2 variations of the same vocal phrase (in G minor) split across the keyboard, S3 using the same sample as in S2 but playing in backward/forward mode. All oscillators are running in Radius RT-mode. All samples are mapped across 2 octaves between C1 - C7. Add temposynced amplitude modulation to all oscillators with Macro 1 (x), the Modwheel introduces temposynced, random-shaped filter modulation. M2 (y) controls amount of delay FX, M3/4 control attack/release time.

From the skylights I can see you are in the attic. Must have been fun getting the oil drum up the stairs.

Looking forward to these :)

My studio is right under the roof, 4th floor, one recording room and the main room, the barrel looks heavier than it actually is, nevertheless the postman refused to carry it upstairs, but that's one of the reasons I go to the gym.

Here comes the release info for set 56:

Iris Subscription Set 56 uploaded on March 20 - 2015 containing 12 presets (388.5 MB) including:

Barrel Drifter
Derived from a 200 litre oil barrel. Processed with delays, filters and a waveshaper. After the inital attack the sound was stretched with Radius RT inside RX4 Advanced. S2 plays the attack part, S1 uses the second half of the long sample. Add temposynced amplitude modulation to S2 with Macro 3, control it's volume with M4. The Modwheel adds a strange mixture of short delays and chorus FX. When M2 (y) is down, you can introduce the filter envelope with M1 (x). M5 introduces pitch modulation in S2, control modulation speed with M6, change the LFO waveform with M7. M8 adds reverb FX.

Bowed Bowl Scape
Bowing one of my large singing bowls. S1 plays the unprocessed bowing improvisation, S2/3 use an electronic derivative made with crusherX and other things - all samples play in Non-Retrigger mode. The Modwheel decreases LP cutoff and adds distortion. Macro 2 (y) adds amplitude modulation to S1/2, control modulation speed with M1 (x). M3 controls the volume of S3, M4 introduces pan-modulation in S3, control modulation speed with M5. M7/6 control amount of delay FX/delay speed.

Emperor's Texture
S1 uses an animated tonal soundscape made with Kaleidoscope. S2/3 share a long granulated glass chime texture, each oscillator has a dedicated volume control (Macros 3-5), all samples play in Non-Retrigger mode The Modwheel introduces temposynced, square-shaped pitch modulation in all 3 oscillators (with different LFO-speeds per sample), +/- 1 octave with the wheel fully engaged. Macro 2 (y) controls LP cutoff frequency, M1 introduces temposynced filter modulation. Check the Macro page for more controls.

Glass Chimes Duet 01
Featuring some beautiful glass chimes. S1 plays an unprocessed glass chime texture, S2 - running in Non-Retrigger mode - uses an electronic derivative made with GRM Tools Evolution and other things. M3-5 control amount of chorus/delay/reverb FX, M6 introduces random pitch modulation in S1, control modulation speed with M7, M8 introduces noise-shaped pitch modulation in S2.

Glass Chimes Duet 02
Derived from some beautiful glass chimes. S1 plays an unprocessed glass chime texture, S2 uses a melodyned-derivate, tuning the chimes to a major scale, both oscillators play in Non-Retrigger mode. The Modwheel introduces noise-shaped pitch modulation in both oscillators. Please check the Macro page to see how the 8 assigned Macros affect the sound.

Minor String Space Split
Tonal string-resonator texture in minor7, produced with Kaleidoscope. All oscillators use the same long sample, S1/2 are layered from C3 upwards (C4 in Iris), S3 - running in Non-Retrigger mode - plays from C3 downwards. The Modwheel adds noise-shaped pitch modulation in S1 and temposynced amplitude modulation in S3. Please check the Macro page to see how the 5 assigned Macros affect the sound.

Monsoon Tetxure

Physical Sequence Split
Two sequences made with Chromaphone and Kaleidoscope, split across the keyboard (split point C#3 - C#4 in Iris), both running in Radius RT-mode, so the original tempo (115 BPM) is preserved. The Modwheel adds noise-shaped pitch modulation in both oscillators. Please check the Macro page to see how the 6 assigned Macros affect the sound.

Space Bowl Scape
Soundscape made with/from a large singing bowl. All oscillators use the same long sample, all samples play in Non-Retrigger mode. The Modwheel adds noise-shaped pitch modulation in S1 and controls amount of chorus FX, Macros 1/2 (x/y) control amount of temposynced HP filter modulation / cutoff frequency. M3 tunes S3 up 3 octaves when fully engaged, M4 tunes S2 up 1 ocatve when fully engaged. M5 introduces amplitude modulation in S3, control modulation speed with M6. M7 controls amount of delay FX.

Water Pan
Derived from an incredible little instrument named Water Pan. S1 uses an unprocessed water pan-improvisation played with a soft rubber mallet, S2/3 share a long processed electronic derivative of that sample - increase the volume of S2/3 using the Modhweel. Macros 1/2 (x/y) control amount of delay/reverb FX, M3 introduces fast random pitch modulation in S1, M4 adds aliasing distortion, control the distortion sound (amount) with M5. Control HP filter cutoff with M6, increase release time with M7, add temposynced amplitude modulation to S2/3 with M8.

Waterfall Percussion
Derived from a chime-thing named Waterfall, which produces very loud and percussive wooden, bamboo-like textures although it's made totally from plastic. S1 uses an unprocessed Waterfall-improvisation. moving the instrument between the 3 microphones (L-C-R) while playing. S2/3 share a long processed electronic derivative of that sample, S1/2 are running in Non-Retrigger mode. The Modwheel decreases LP filter cutoff and adds distortion FX, Macro 2 (y) introduces random pitch modulation to S1/2, control modulation speed with M1 (x). S3 - playing the full frequency band of the 2nd half of the processed version - does not react to incoming Midi pitch (Fixed-mode), control it's volume with M3, tune it with M4 (+/- 2 octave, middle position -> no transposition), add pitch modulation with M5, control modulation speed with M6. Add very short/combed delays with M7, tune the delays with M8.

Windgong Split
Featuring my one and only Windgong, scraped and beaten. In the upper half (S2/3) playing from C3 (C4 in Iris) upwards, there is a scraped gong texture. S1 plays from C3 (C4) and below and uses a heavily processed/distorted and stretched gong accent. The Modwheel introduces temposynced amplitude modulation in all 3 oscillators. Macros 1/2 (x/y) control amount of delay/distortion FX. The peak-filter follows key, M3 introduces filter modulation and increases filter resonance, control the modulation speed with M4. Concert Tom Loops Split

Image

Two loops (100 BPM) played on four concert toms, the loop in the upper keyboard half was processed with Stutter Edit using a modified preset from my preset expansion Glitchmania. S1/3 are layered in the lower half up to B2 (B3 in Iris), S3 playing the inverted spectral selection and having pan modulation applied. The Modwheel introduces a combfilter-like delay effect, Macros 1/2 control amount of reverb/distortion FX, M3 controls the HP filter cutoff, M4 controls release time for all 3 oscillators, M5 introduces phaser FX.

FluteVox Morphing Padlead Split
A flute phrase from my sound library Aureus Ventus for HALion 5, played only on the lowest part of a classical flute (Pars-Pro-Toto technique, invented by Andreas Mazur) morphed with a female vocal texture from Granular Symphonies using Zynaptiq’s Morph 2 plugin. The resulting sample is used in all 3 oscillators, S3 playing between C0 - C3 (C1 - C4 in Iris), S1/2 are layered between C3 - C6 (C4 - C7), S2 playing in Non-Retrigger mode with reverse/forward looping. The Modwheel introduces temposynced amplitude modulation in S1/3. The LP filter cutoff is velocity sensitive when Macro 2 is down, M2 introduces aliasing distortion and chorus FX. M3 controls amount of delay FX, M4 controls attack time.

Framedrum FX Layers
A single Framedrum hit in S1 and it’s electronic derivatives in S2/3 mapped from C0 - C6 (C1 - C7 in Iris). Each layers has it’s dedicated volume control (Macros 3-5), S2 can be tuned up 2 octaves using M6. Please check the Macro page for more controls.

Glockenspiel Phrase Cloud Split

Image

A glockenspiel phrase in Gmin I played on a Musser Glockenspiel (pic here) processed with crusherX, Kaleidoscope and other things. S1/2 highlight different segments and spectral aspects of the same sample, overlapping split point is C3 (C4 in Iris), S2 is playing in Non-Retrigger mode. The Modwheel introduces temposynced, square-shaped pitch modulation, +/- 1 octave with the wheel fully engaged. Macro 2 controls LP filter cutoff, M1 introduces temposynced filter modulation. M3/4 control amount of delay/chorus FX.

Glockenspiel Rising Cloud Split
Rising Glockenspiel arpeggio I played on a Musser Glockenspiel (pic here) processed with crusherX, Kaleidoscope and other things. The same long soundscape is used in all 3 oscillators, S2 playing in Non-Retrigger mode. S3 plays the full frequency range, control it’s volume using Macro 5. Macro 2 controls LP filter cutoff, M1 introduces temposynced filter modulation. M3/4 control amount of delay/chorus FX, M6 controls release time, M7 adds reverb FX.

Glockenspiel Surreality 01
The long sample used in this patch by all 3 oscillators is an excerpt from an improvisation I played on this Musser Glockenspiel (pic here), with the windows of the recording room wide open so that environmental sounds (birds, dogs, cars, wind, other suburban noises) would chime into the recording. The result was processed with crusherX and other things. Each oscillator highlights different aspects from this excerpt and has it’s dedicated volume control (Macros 3 - 5). S1/2 are mapped up to C5 (C6 in iris), S3 is mapped up to C6 (C7 in Iris). The Modwheel introduces noise-shaped pitch modulation in S3, M1 introduces pan modulation in S1/2, please check the Macro page for more controls.

Glockenspiel Surreality 02
The long sample used in this patch by all 3 oscillators is an excerpt from an improvisation I played on this Musser Glockenspiel (pic here), with the windows of the recording room wide open so that environmental sounds (birds, dogs, cars, wind, other suburban noises) would chime into the recording. The result was processed with crusherX and other things. Each oscillator highlights different aspects from this excerpt and has it’s dedicated volume control (Macros 3 - 5), S3 is playing in Non-Retrigger mode. S1/2 are mapped up to C5 (C6 in iris), S3 is mapped upto C7 (C8 in Iris). The Modwheel introduces square-shaped pitch modulation in S1, M1 introduces pan modulation in S2/3, please check the Macro page for more controls.

Moaning And Droning Split
Upper keyboard half C4 - C7 (C5 - C8 in Iris): morphing some Tuvan throat singing from my Alchemy sound library MetaVox with a strange sound I programmed on Zebra using Zynaptiq’s Morph 2 plugin.
Lower keyboard half C0 - C4 (C1 - C5 in Iris): rubbing the skin of a large ocean drum (pic here) with a rubber ball mounted on a stick, then time-stretching the result with IRAM Stretch (MachFive 3) and applying more FX to the stretched sound.
The Modwheel introduces temposynced amplitude modulation, please check the Macro page to see how the 6 assigned Macros affect the sounds.

Pickup Coil Drone Split
The raw sound for this patch was recorded with a pickup coil microphone, a small device which lets you record the sound of electromagnetic fields, similar to a guitar pickup. So I scanned the surface of my Euphonix MC Mix device and then processed the result further with various effects. S3 is mapped from C-1 - C3 (C0 - C4 in Iris) and only plays the low frequency range, S1/2 are layered from C3 - C8 (C4 - C9 in Iris) upwards, S2 is playing the inverted spectral selection from S1 and has a dedicated volume control (Macro 3). All oscillators are playing in Non-Retrigger mode. The FX section is running in Send-mode, M4 controls send level for S3 (distortion), M5 controls send level for S1/2 (chorus), M1 controls delay send for all oscillators. Macro 2 controls LP cutoff and introduces filter modulation when turned down. As the filter section is routed post FX-send, the resulting filter modulation will not be processed by the Iris effects.
