I am so happy with Rapture Pro so far. Some of the patches are just so outstanding. I start it up intending to browse through the presets just to check them out and I will just get stuck on one just jamming out for like 20 minutes. I cant seem to get very far through them because I'm finding them to be very inspiring. I haven't even played around with the programing part yet, but it looks pretty interesting from what I see so far. Its also very low on cpu, barely an impact. Some of the patches take a minute to load I've noticed, not all, but a few. I have some minor issues with missing presets I noticed which I posted in the other thread, but other than that it is an excellent plug in. Anyway, hope you all have your troubles with it sorted soon and enjoy it as much as I have been.
Cheers
Cheers

Later OS's may be okay, but they haven't fixed their registration process yet for 10.8.5jc_vt wrote:Still on the sidelines waiting....anyone having good luck with Mac installs?

I can't get it to work on 10.9.5 either (can't register it).gnosis123 wrote:Later OS's may be okay, but they haven't fixed their registration process yet for 10.8.5jc_vt wrote:Still on the sidelines waiting....anyone having good luck with Mac installs?
It's been 7 days since the release of their product, and 6 days since I got last reply from the support. They've only asked me for the OS version and never followed up.
Now I went to Cakewalk forums, out of desperation, and saw this thread:
http://forum.cakewalk.com/Response-to-i ... 16580.aspx
Seemingly, last Friday they have issued a fix for issue with installation in custom directory, and although it doesn't affect me (hopefully), I have no idea how exactly are their customers even supposed to know if any updates are issued, considering that they didn't even bother informing customers through email (at least I haven't received anything - at all - from them). I don't even understand how that update is supposed to be installed, nothing is explained anywhere and that Command Center crap doesn't say anything either.
And users keep posting in that thread, begging for OSX fix, but people in Cakewalk are either dumb or blind. They keep talking about OSX 10.7 and 10.8, and another Cakewalk guy says how install worked for him, as if it helps anyone who has problems. I am stunned. Amateur hour.
This person has exact same symptoms: http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3214819
And this guy has the same problem too: http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3214184
But yeah, one guy from Cakewalk installed it on OSX, so it must be working
I also have to admit that they've managed to amaze me by creating a synth that takes longer to load than NI products (on initial/first load) on my computer. I didn't think it was possible, but they did it.

From that CW thread...
Oh jeez...For one thing, you guys are using a browser framework that has references to MS packages. You won't find those in the Python that ships with OS X.
You need to limit that rez, bro.

Yes it worked for me in the end except for the silent Piscis patches.jc_vt wrote:Still on the sidelines waiting....anyone having good luck with Mac installs?

Wow, I am glad I have stayed away from it...
I will stick with just Dimension pro and rapture....
I hope Cakewalk figures this out soon....

Jeez I don't think Cakewalk know how to code plugins properly for Mac. I just tried editing the plist file to change the directory for Rapture Pro samples since it's not seeing any that are too deep but the plugin is just ignoring my edits, I even tried deleting the plist and it still only loads the samples from where the installer put them, god knows what setting it is referencing for this if it's not a preferences plist? Also if you move the samples and presets manually a sensibly coded plugin should ask where they are, but not Rapture Pro. It just loads silent patches.

I saw that in their forum, as midi_sentinal pointed out above, how multiple people were clearly saying "It does not work on my Mac!" and then a Cakewalk guy posts, AFTER all those posts, and says "Hey it's working for me fine," and then he literally typed out the basic installation procedure, as if THAT would help. How incredibly insulting!
It was just so frighteningly out of touch that it convinced me to stay away from this thing for MONTHS, if not forever.

Where are these fixes? I can't tell if there's an update or not, neither my user account or the Command centre crap tell you if there's an update. I want to try reinstalling to a different folder to fix the silent patches problem but daren't until I know it's not going to delete files.midi sentinel wrote: Seemingly, last Friday they have issued a fix for issue with installation in custom directory, and although it doesn't affect me (hopefully), I have no idea how exactly are their customers even supposed to know if any updates are issued, considering that they didn't even bother informing customers through email (at least I haven't received anything - at all - from them). … and a perfect demonstration of the mindset that let them release it in that pitiful state in the first place. I have called CW support a couple times about this, and was told last Friday they were testing a fix. So SOMEBODY knows it's a problem. Given their unaccountable slowness to fix this priority 1 bug, I suspect what they're going to do is -- stupidly -- wait a few weeks for a first round bug fix release, while who knows how many of us twist slowly, slowly in the breeze, just trying to register. Fortunately, I have Omni 2 to distract me...

They probably have one Mac and a Windows developer is doing that port.
It is so sad that they're this pathetic. I really would've been very happy to be proven wrong about my pessimism. It isn't just the Mac support. The whole shebang goes on like this. Are their "simple instrument" tracks still clumsy kludges in Sonar?
I've been continuing to migrate projects out of Sonar into Logic, finding new bugs I've never seen before (like the spontaneously disappearing "Cakewalk plug-in manager" menu item in the 32-bit version), and now it is giving me horrible digital spike noises randomly on play start (including rendering these into mix down wave file output). It didn't do it for months. Then suddenly it started doing it often. It's like they have, with Microsoft's over-complicated and bloated OS, accidentally created artificial intelligence, and it H A T E S me. I'm waiting for it to start deleting files (while not even running) and infecting my cats with Dutch elm disease or termites. I think the stress is giving me hives. I just wanna be DONE with it!

I took the leap and it basically seems to be running for me on Mac 10.9.5.
Initially it ran on Live 9 in 32-bit but crashed Live in 64-bit. I deleted and reinstalled, rebooted the Mac, and seems to work fine (the same fixed a similar issue with Z3ta+2.NEW - next time I ran live 64 bit rapture crashed it again! I did use CC, and it ran okay except 2 of the libraries continue to show red even though I downloaded several times it was told it completed. Cannot figure out to tell whether the content of those libraries is installed or not...
