This is great stuff, all really extending Dune 2 sonically. I especially liked your Choir sounds. I kind of got close using Bpf filters set to high resonance to simulate vocal formants, but this method is a lot closer to what I wanted to achieve. Appropos using these wavetables for my own presets, does your offer of allowing Sound Designers to use them freely for their own commercial releases still stand? I've got a set I intend to release in the next couple of days that uses the wavetables that come with the factory presets, but I am already starting to work on some new material for this synth that features your astounding wavetables. I of course will give anything I release with these to you gratis, for free.

Also, would you be interested in creating particular wavetable sets to order? Maybe we could work out some kind of trade as far this concerned? There are a number of sounds that I would like to see as wavetables, particularly vocal, formant, vosim type sounds (it would be great to have something that emulates a yoy type bass sound without using a bitcrusher or formant filter for example) , struck metal and metallophone sounds, horn and woodwind sounds, as well as sounds that travel from inharmonic to harmonic and vice versa or maybe have an interval like a fifth that can be scanned to a fourth or other interval.

Just putting some ideas out there. I'm sure you've plenty of your own and I for one will look out for them.
Thanks for your kind words. Of course you can use the wavetables for your bank. Good luck with that 8)

I'll get back to you about the rest of your post, but, in principle, I would be happy to do stuff to order. Coincidentally I am doing some VOSIM stuff already :hyper:

Wicked. I've been experimenting with Vosim on Serum lately. Another user (whose name temporarily escapes me) gave me some formulas for creating them with Serum. I'm no maths head, I just typed them in and started experimenting. So far they've been good for all sorts of stuff, basses, pads, leads, you name it. Eventually, I'll get beyond messing around with Serum and actually create a set for it. :hihi:
Serum's a funny synth though. It's like a Fisher Price activity centre for Sound Designers. You can get carried away with just experimenting.

I'm in the process of releasing a set for Dune right now that has 240 patches in it and should have the product available from a number of vendors by the end of the week. Here's a link to 30 free presets I'm giving away to promote it: https://www.dropbox.com/s/uo8iicm5k1jny ... k.rar?dl=0

Enjoy.

What I've done here is to stick a word in to a text-to-speech synthesizer that can be accessed from within Mathematica and extracted as many unique waveforms from that as I could be bothered to do, resampled them and exported to DUNE2 wt format.

Here is what it can sound like:

Thanks for the waves Cytospur! I've not delved into D2's ability to use audio-rate modulation much, but these wavetables have given me a push in that direction. At the moment I'm using the Wavelets table to modulate the sync frequency of Osc 2, then using the Subosc set at the same pitch (and with phase reset on all oscillators) to shape the amplidude and taper away the discontinuities with a ramp wave. Sounds like a broken Vosim operator at the moment but I'm working on it :hihi:

Move the pitch of any of the oscillators away from unison and all hell breaks loose. :phones:

No problem. Glad you're having fun with them. I've done similar experiments to you including making my own VOSIM wavetables, although they still need some work. One way of doing something similar tough is to use a wavetable with resonant waveforms in such as the TT303 (MH303) wavetable(s) that I made (the link is earlier in this thread if you didn't see it). Stick that in one oscillator and another wavetable in the other and crank up the ring mod. Keep the volumes of the two oscillators down, although you can add them in to taste. Mess around it a bit with other settings. I find the acid oscillator works best for me btw. You get some lovely sounding vocal-like strains as well as brass, woodwind, strings etc, depending on what is in the second wavetable. The legacy wavetable is quite good for finding happy marriages :)

I thought you might like them

Would you like me to make some PD patches to look through?

Messing around with converting drum loops in to wavetables and then mangling them :D
https://soundcloud.com/markholt/tortured-drums-mh

A 909-ish drum loop converted to a wavetable for use in DUNE2. The keytracked wavetable is then 'played' by another MIDI loop with some MSEG modulations of different parameters, e.g., cutoff, pitch, and decay. All sounds come from the converted drum loop, even the synthy noises.

Mark, I finally finished my new patch library today (350 new patches) containing quite a few of your wavetables. I'll be putting together a demo and getting a copy of the collection to you shortly.

Thanks for your contribution.

Mark, I sent you a PM with download details. Please get back to me when you can.

In the meantime, here's a soundcloud demo that I put together that you can listen to.

Managed to create a pretty cool Rez Vox type of sound with your wave tables. There is a certain name for the type of vox sound but can't put my finger on it.
