Came back to read people's experiences with Omni2 aaaaand....

but please, keep fighting about taste and relevancy IT MATTERS IT REALLY DOES, IT VERY VERY MATTERS.

Yeah, too many people complaining and not enough people making music. I've got 14 patches and 1 multi done already after just a day working with this.

I'll post a demo when I hit 350.

First of all, I'm 50 as of last month.

Second, 80% of my posts to you were pure sarcasm... I thought obviously so. Third, and last, old men like us have been calling previous generation's music crap since time immemorial. I think, one of my super powers is that I have the ability to discern between crap I like that's crap and things I like that are actually good. Just for fun I loaded up a Skrillex video in Youtube. Nothing more harsh than anything Trent Reznor (another old duff like me) wasn't doing years ago and hell, if you want harsh have a listen to Einstürzende Neubauten. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't really dig Skrillex, but not because he's not a talented sound designer. I like the idea of finding a technology and breaking it. I always have. I have heard some good dubstep though that I thought was pretty good.

Anyway, just trust me. You sound like the old man you thought was an old man when you were a young man. I think I navigate around that because I was already a cranky old man when I was in high school.

A few more hours of Omni2 experimentation this evening. Used some found sounds (pouring from a bottle, shortwave radio, etc.) and created some user patches around them. Played with some of the new FX, Arp capabilities, etc. Silly fun but it convinced me that this is a sound design beast. Regards.

I noticed the latency with the envelopes is still unfixed.
Take this example.
Here we have the envelope over 1 bar and the waves of it recorded 1st and 2nd bar of the same envelope. As you can see 1 is no where near aligned with 2 and you can also see that 2 has the tail of 1 in it due to the delay.

Hey in that soundcloud demo you have for the 350 Omnisphere patches there's some lovely classic analog sounding stuff in there. You going that direction with your new stuff? Or more into the monster transformers having sex while belching sounds of brostep?

I kid about that latter part. I joke.

First impression - some of the oscillator only synth patches cause glitches on a 6 core i7 and max the CPU in Ableton Live 9.

Then again so does just about anything if the latency is at a playable level. I swear sometimes I regret buying Ableton.

Sounds great though! Will give it a try in Reaper, but I got to get to bed.

First impressions... So far "Agape Sheen" is my favorite of the new presets.
