To Ableton users:
I'm new to Live, swtiched from FL Studio.. I wonder if there's any ability to put BlueARP in a group consisting a VST or any instrument (just like putting Live's native ARP), so that I can set them all together and pack them as single group, it will be easier for me to recall them in other project.

Perhaps there will be a special midi routing? Or a simple VST to route the midi ports?

Hi Greywolf,

Bluearp is really very, very nice. Thanks a lot for offering it free. I've got Kirnu of a magazine DVD, but I like Bluearp more. I am using 2.03 at the moment, will try to update shortly.

I have a question. Normally I would look in a manual, but the only one I can find is on Scribd, I would have to pay to download and it looks written for an outdated version. Perhaps it's written in this topic, but it's over 60 pages....

I want to use automation to change patterns, but I'm not sure what is the best way? I'm using it in FL Studio. At the moment I figured out I can automate 'current chain' and have a number of programs sequenced in each chain. There are 8 chains, so I can use 8 sequences.

How can I use more? I'm guessing with bank and patch number changes? I just can't figure out how. Am I right I can program 64 patterns/programs? Is there a way to switch between all 64 in a freely programmable way (pianoroll/automation/midi-out)?

Much respect for your work! I hope you (or another) can find the time to explain, or point me to a manual?

kind regards, Frank

If you want just automate bluearp's program change:
1. Go to MENU -> Settings
2. Set "prog.change msg" param to "set program"

This way you tell BlueARP to respond to program change message, by default it ignores it.
So you can freely switch between all 64 programs.
Not yet reflected in the manual. It's outdated, I know. The current manual comes in the zip file, no need to search it elsewhere.

Hi Graywolf,

Thanks! I'll be trying that tonight. I just finished a techno track where Bluearp is driving the bass, which is the prominent 'lead' in the track. If your interested, have a listen: https://soundcloud.com/unbeliever/dachshund1

Also I will update to latest version, and get to read the manual if you included it, nice.

Good work, professionally sounding.
I'll post an update in several hours today, so you'd better wait a little for v2.13. It also includes updated manual.

Finally, Windows & OSX update: BlueARP v2.13

Version for Windows (updated 19-Apr-2015)

Version for OSX (updated 19-Apr-2015)
http://www.graywolf2004.net/files/2/Blu ... _v2.13.zip

Changes:
1. This is mostly a bugfixing release, since I released 2.12 quite raw. It's still beta, current stable is v2.11
2. Combined 'SCALE STEP' and 'SEMITONE' values bars into one. Now 'SCALE STEP' behaves like SEMITONE when force to scale: scale = 'off/chromatic'. Check the manual for more details
3. By right-clicking note-related value box (like input range) you can enter it from MIDI keyboard, see the attached image (phreaque, it was your request)
4. Fixed several bugs with force to scale and other things

Last but not least - finally I updated the manual.

Thank you !

Hi Graywolf,

Yep, I've got 2.13 now... :) Thanks! Now I also finally got to read the manual, answering other questions I had.

I tried the setting you described for Program Change msg and it works, thanks again :) Automating the Patch selector in FL's Midi Out does the trick.

I'm guessing Bank change is not available? Well, I would think it's really not necessary anyway, 64 programs is enough.

And again thanks for the kind words on my track. I'm not a pro yet, but things are starting to shape up real nice.

ETA on AU version? ;)

I don't know what is 'ETA'.
As for AU, not in near future, but I don't say 'never'. It requires to go deeper into OSX development, this is the thing I don't want to do now. Compiling VST on OSX was enough PITA for me )
What I can do relatively easy - is VST3. But since VST2 is still standard de-facto, I think there's no big need for VST3 version now.

Post

'ETA' is an acronym for 'Estimated Time [of] Arrival'.

Kind regards,

Joachim
If it were easy, anybody could do it!

This looks fun to play with, but I already have Cthulhu for this kind of thing. Even my Cubase Arpache works quite well, for me at least.
Ha ha suck it!

I tried the latest beta in Cubase 8 Elements, and the problem i had with a former version with the static sawtooth noise is gone. :) Really happy i can use it again, i got Kirnu Cream CM, but never really figured out the way it works, BlueArp is so much more intuitive and clear. Thanks again for this fine piece of software Oleg.
