Incantations V - Dreams of Sky/Incantations V - Nightmares Under Earth.

For myself, this became a study of Light and Dark - and how easily one becomes the other.....

It did not start out that way.... I simply thought, what would happen if you took the same source sounds and the same programming and then applied a difference of microtuning and detuning to the voices....

You can directly compare the sounds between each soundset as they share the same first word in their names.

Okay, some news....

The sounds for Incantations V are finished. Both Dreams of Sky and Nightmares Under Earth have 24 sounds.

This time, however, I have decided to do presets.

There will be 24 single sound presets for each one for Wusikstation V6/V7, Dimension Pro, Rapture and Kontakt V2 and up.

There will also be a small selection of "mixed" presets for each instrument to give ideas as to what can further be done in those instruments...

For example:

In Wusik/Anomaly, the mixed presets so far are taking two sources and both panning their location and volume conversely.

In Kontakt, I have just started but am using the scripting feature of Kontakt V3 to use a Harmonizer script I have as well as the Microtuning script that comes with Kontakt3.

More to come as I delve into this....

Incantations V will be released tomorrow......

Incantations V consists of 24 all new sounds made from vocal samples in the DNR Collaborative Developers Pack as well as some additional vocal samples of Daniel Kemp and Leilah Wendell and some vocal samples derived from public domain Gregorian Chants, as well as new vocal sources from Paule Amca.

These samples were then programmed as wavesequences in the Anomaly VSTi and multi-sampled, resulting in the 24 chants of Incantations V.

All sounds are looped and each Incantation is about 36 seconds long.

Each Invocation was programmed using 4 WaveSequences (2 instances) in Anomaly - using only 3 voices at any one time - and then sampled.

Incantations V is available in a .SFZ/.WAV version and is 582 Mb.

There are 24 single sound presets for Wusikstation V6 and V7.
There are 24 .nki files for Kontakt V2 and up.
There are 24 single sound presets for Rapture.
There are 24 single sound presets for Dimension Pro.

There are Mixed presets for each instrument to give examples of how these sounds can be used together. Idea starters only... What you do with the sounds is up to you....

The sf2 (soundfont) version is composed of 24 individual multi-sampled, mono .sf2 files and is 290 Mb.

There are two volumes to Incantations V:

Dreams of Sky
Nightmares Under Earth

The only difference between them is that Nightmares Under Earth uses Microtuning on all voices and detuning on two of the three voices per sound. You will see what I mean by going to the page and listening to the audio demos....

I will announce it here when it is released tomorrow.

Mine all mine, of course! Starting my next album, Dreams of Sky will definitely be in many tracks since this is more of a "light to twilight" kind of album.

Anomaly VSTi appeared on Every. Single. Track. On my new album, too!

One thing I have not tried yet is finding the spot to blend a dream and nightmares sound together in one preset. I will have to work on that after a little break.....

That would be CRAZY!

Been going through the presets.. so many inspirations! Can't wait to get started on more tracks!
