Just amazing!Hi guys!
This is our first OSC. It was quite fun to explore and design sounds with this 80' revival synth.
The title can't be more cliché. We were aiming for something in the line of Vector Hold and Mitch Murder (in a modern retro synthwave something feel).

I had a go at making a preset bank but failed miserably... any ways here are mine in zip form if anyone is interested.
Also includes new revision of song with better kick and less clipping

Melodic kind of tech-house... Inspired by stimming but not as good. Decent for a dance though

Hey man, have lots of fun. My last bike was a 1964 James Superswift 250cc ... was riding that in the late 1960's. It was a blue one - it was slightly odd looking at the time because the cooling fins were squared off, but it did stand out in a crowd. Better looking than the mods scooters with 50 or more mirrors on them - and a tad bit faster too!!!Parduz wrote:Guys, i'm gonna on a three day road trip with my trusty Suzuki Burgman 400. Here is my melodramatic Ambient entry for OSC #75. Please notice, this song isn't finished, neither finally mixed nor finished in composition. It also has some harmonic errors. But didn't got round to fix/finish it completely. Anyway I hope some of you will like it somehow

A lot of 80's style tracks this month
And coincidentally, a new movie came out today, with lots of 80's synth music (NSFW) - 30minutes total:

Not a fan of this, but the music is very cool

Sorry for disturbing your 80's challenge
I have to make some noise and its partly chilling, too.
What a month, had not much time woking on the track because of heavy spring fever.
Found it anyway. But it influenced the whole track.
The discussion early this month about how much FX is necessary for a good track forced me to restrict myself on this. Usually I have 4-5 Delays and Reverbs in a track. I limited to only one of each, DAW included, not 3rd party. I allowed unlimited EQ and Comps only. It resulted in tons of sends, but I think I made it.

One Synth Challenge #75: PG-8X
"Themes from Mindwalk" is a series of new tracks based on one of my old Mods from 1996. The original "Mindwalk" track contanis some melodies I want to rearrange to separate songs.
This is Part 5 / 12. All parts will be done in One Synth Challenge 2015
DAWs (so far)
ProTracker (1996 - original Sample based Track)
OpenMPT (2013 - Converting Amiga Mod to Midi),
Reaper (now - complete new Track based on taken melody line(s))
35 instances of PG-8X (2 or 3 not in use - skipped parts)
Used Plugins
DAW:
ReaEQ (37x), ReaComp (12x), ReaDelay (1x), ReaVerbate (1x), midi_transpose (2x), MIDI/sequencer_megababy (1x)
3rd Party:
-
Master:
ReaEQ, TLs Maximizer, ReaXComp (2x), AnSpec, MSED, SPAN, masterlimiter, rbj12eq-teej, np1136peaklimiter, D2, gfxscope
I decided to give subtitles to my series tracks. Pt.3-5 got it already on SC track description.
I failed on making a bank with my patches, too. Will upload a zip ASAP.
Hope you have fun.
To all sick people out the (Mojo and some friends here), get well soon!

Hey guys, just a quick non-serious-submission.
I wanted to figure out what is possible with some more extreme measurements in terms of distortion and the previously used Synth "DEXED" for the low-end on the Kick. Apart from said other synth + another DEXED-instance for the sub-bass, everything is still PG-8X. Obviously, it breaks the rules with extreme distortion and freezing the sound. What do you guys think, still just an 80s synth?

Is it possible to do non-80s sounds with PG-8x? Listening to my track going okay... and then BAM really, really cheesy 80s chord progression and sounds pop out. I swear I didn't put it in there! Darn it!! For better or worse, my track will be 80s free before submission - I promise you that.
