and here is what that last one sounds like:

http://2caudio.com/sitecontent/products ... lder05.wav

...at least one way (out of an infinite number of ways to use it...) :o

here is another:

http://2caudio.com/sitecontent/products ... lder06.wav

(simply reversed, changed to OUT mod instead of IN to get more pronounced mod envelopes, lessened Soft value to allow more HFs in).

I think I could create quite a nice composition with these various ingredients...

the point of todays examples is to show how you can achieve musical results by using images and tonalities that are both organized in musically meaningful ways... this is very cool stuff, and very fertile ground to explore IMHO... :tu:

Of course the exact same image can be used for completely atonal sound FX also:

or one of the earlier images:

http://2caudio.com/sitecontent/products ... lder08.wav

...in fact mixing/combing tonal and atonal rendering of the same image is a VERY powerful compositional/sound-design technique... :tu:

Andrew, those are great images. Thank you!

This can sound pretty spectacular:

i thought i would share this tip i got from ableton support because it has given me a massive cpu boost and thus has made ks much more useful to me

this is tech supports suggestion
"We've found that in most cases where users are experiencing their fans going at full speed and the computer is heating up, the issue is caused by the graphics interface. Unfortunately, on dual GPU systems, Live forces OS X to use the discrete GPU, which is not ideal. If this is the case for you, you could benefit from a third party application which forces your computer to use the integrated GPU in all cases:

https://gfx.io/ "

you use the app to set your mac to use integrated gpu only

one silly question : how can i load them into KS ?

How do pics of naked girls sound?!

Post

I am dreaming of the day when KS will have it's own wavetable synth with all the architecture waveforms and also a day when its images output midi. Thanks again for the new images.

Download them. Copy them to /2CAudio Resource Library/Images/.../.../... whatever folder structure you like...

reload KS.

You can open pics of whatever you want and find out if you convert them to 1024*1024 pixel PNGs.

Generally, random photos sound, well, random... mathematical patten-like images are typically more useful musically... but feel free to try if you like...

Well, this guy here isn't really naked, but he sure sounded interesting when I mangled him in KS:

A swish/wave I played on a huge ocean drum processed with KS, that signal is sent to Molekular/DNA, that signal is sent to another instance of KS, everything is sent into 1 instance of B2 as well:

Here comes a first, very basic tutorial explaining the main functions of the GUI and some basic principles of Kaleidoscope, the video is far from perfect but will give newcomers some useful insights:
