Hi
Is there a vst/au plugin that will simply playback audio files? Can't find one anywhere...
Thanks

Which DAW are you using? Just about every DAW comes with some form of sampler/sample player. Although I can understand needing something more stripped down just for playing back audio. Since you are asking for VST and AU's, I'll assume you're on a Mac. Here's some suggestions:
Sonic Arts Nuance: http://www.newsonicarts.com/html/nuance ... a=overview What's nice about Nuance is the fact it can be used quickly and efficiently for playing audio samples. It's got some great features without being overly complicated. It's $89.
TAL - Sampler: http://tal-software.com/products/tal-sampler I haven't used this yet since it just came out, but it looks powerful while also being easy to use. It's also available for a very reasonable intro price of $45.
TX16Wx Software Sampler: http://www.tx16wx.com/home This is another instrument that's easy to use and powerful at the same time. It's also FREE
Kontakt Player: http://www.native-instruments.com/en/pr ... -5-player/ Obviously, Kontakt/Kontakt Player are an industry standard when it comes to playing samples. The "player version" is still quite powerful for a free VST/AU.
There are still more freeware options out there, you just need to spend a little time researching them. Good luck.
