hi xoxos , there is a possibility to create a tuned version of adze / stoooner?
or already there some trick to do this?

Post

i've been working on 3d graphics waiting for someone, anyone.. to bug me about those updates for bong and aurora hehe :) regardless they will be here before mid august. aurora only needs the notice email sent out.

one of the ideas i've had for exploiting is to release an effect version of the processes from adze, someone was asking for an effect that raised the noisefloor, so that might have some application. (i've been planning on calling this "expensive vst" and charging 19.95 for it since it will be the only thing that does it and lots of people think it's not insane to pay many dollars for stupid crap, and this is especially pointless).

i don't want to work much with samplers because people will ask for the same kinds of features in other samplers, and my use of the se sdk doesn't allow for the kind of large dataset GUI a polytimbral sampler really needs. i'm stuck with my system and compiler so i'm not going to be doing that soon.

itm i'm enjoying the 3d stuff, working on AI now, and it's fun seeing "my people" wander around and pretend they're alive. immensely satisfying seeing the technology that wowed me twenty years ago implemented in under 500 lines, like i couldn't have done that 20 years ago if it hadn't been such shit finding out about APIs and evil, secretive brotherhoods that dominate the entire human race.

i think we all should have done it 20 years ago and punched that guy in the face. not me the other guy.

when I get bored instead of doing other things, I'm going to look for bugs and I come here and do absurd requests only to break the rules(should I say balls) :hihi:

However ignore my crap and thanks for the reply.
in my opinion Adze is the best sampler around and an adze fx looks very interesting.

:) i'm just posting to mark territory :)

xoxos looks like this -

now thru 2nd week of august - game development, definately bong update released in this time. might die, if not, we'll go on to

2015 def - fft fx

2015/2016
mon vst - percussion synthesis using a variety of impulse and resonator types
wyrm vst - freeware synth
maybe some kind of platform for INT based synthesis ("8 bit") or one-shots

as usual, only a few ideas worth implementing, and minimal need to turn them into products for extortion, but continuing work in the field :)

This is good news :wheee:

wyrm is the one that will suck? Or is it a earworm generator?

That heightfield is spiffy, I demand some cacti in that. Give me cacti or I won't have it.

Why killing BONG ? it has become such a MUSCULAR synth drum machine !

That's great, R. !
Professional technicians are assessed by the abilities they possess.
Amateur technicians are assessed by the tools they possess - and the amount of those tools, with an obvious preference to the latest hyped ones.

Well hey, that's a cool photo with the tones of the colours. Plus it's hairy.

i oughtn't not give away too much tactical data, but i do like to elicit things for people

..after taking a mo to update bong (and aurora, just unnewsed) i did have a go at the fft effect. here's what my life looks like -

i need to make a few $ (under $50) each month to eat. at current, i may be fortunate enough to make that much in odd license sales. i could finish and flog the fft effect and perhaps bring in $100 or so over the next month or two.

same for other projects.. they're basically easy to program stuff. really boring to me to do... eg. fft = make fft, add smoothing functions, maybe other easy stuff that make different sounds other "proper" developers wouldn't dream of doing.

but it's so boring. the reality is, we all should have learned how to do this a decade ago. all of us, you and i and you also. what else did i say.. a basic f/w synth with some kinda new stuff for oscs and that odf filter i like? a percussion synth combining my collection of impulse modeling techniques and resonators.. hardly bloody new, i'll spend a month and a half and make $200 at best and people will talk about NI and how great some sample set sounds, so they can buy samples, just like 20 years ago, and never f**king change or grow or get anywhere where life looks different.

so after tapping a few lines into the fft i shelved it and kept working on the thing i enjoy working on. no income but didn't have a lot anyway. suppose the things i like about the game mean as much to others as the things other people like about paying for new plugins mean to me. get a fricking life people. today you may love me, 40 years down the line you'd say "you sold me that simple algorithm because i was too lazy to do it myself".

but you know what people, i'm the one that would get upset about that. like everything, i'm the one that would feel the urge to take responsibility and try and do something while people sit back and say "hey maybe someday sell us some stuff, we're real comfortable buying things".

you, also, need an imagination about how to improve society. i know it's been viciously stamped out of you at an early age but try.

I was going to post a wall of text but naahh. Here's that shortened so you can just jump over it:

What you keep iterating over and over again about us buying new stuff not making us happy, that's certainly true, but then go and try and carve a concave shape into a piece of wood with a straight edge chisel. Yet there's a world of difference between gouges.

When you're at the level that something is easy and even boring to do, you should remember it may as well have taken you twenty years to reach that level and even with dedication, someone else may never reach that level.

You're a digital luthier and many of us wouldn't be much of a desktop musician if it wasn't for folks like you. Different strokes for different folks, but there wouldn't be one without the other.

There's over 7 billion ways for us to improve our societies and true, we don't know much about that yet. But generally, whatever knowingly or not, most of us do try.

being 'forced' into my househusband role has taught me to do all the most boring jobs day after day after...i now have a mountain of things i'd love to finish, many of which i fear i never will.

i'm a targeted individual with about four weeks left of my life and (10 years minus 4 weeks) of petitioning the public for their awareness in the matter. :)

thanks, public :tu:

lately i've been socialising with papuans. they also do not care so terribly much if their synthesizers avail novel features, much in the same way that people suffering in "first world locales" have much concern for it.

my involvement in music was to increase memetic dynamism in civilised (verb, transitive) people and encourage greater consideration and awareness via eg. potentiating expression for those without "economic representation". very glib of me.

silly me :)

yes, great that one can make a new kind of "ping," two days ago the indonesian army drove up and started firing into a group of people in karubaga. there was some disagreement going on, so they "pacified".

could have set up a recorder and made some greally great sample sets for reaktor eh, $29.95 not too much to ask is it.

you see, indonesia in papua is about natural resources. there's a connection between consumerism, or admiration for "digital luthiers" as you put it, and the mechanics driving this kind of event.

finland.. just chatting with a ritual abuse victim, doesn't even know who rauni kilde is.

(ritual abuse is where people in the community worship satan and pick special victims then everybody is mean to them for their wntire life and all that misery i guess is like candy for satan. it happens, and it happens, and it keeps happening, and who want's to f**king know about it that's right not you just go back to reading forum of synths bro).

I think both of us are the kind of people who can appreciate meditating on our own rotting bones. Most will find that grotesque, but neither of us could.

And actually I do know who she was (and in a way still is, simply because she left a mark of herself). A bit of a looney, a bit of a truther. Though when it comes to finnish theosophists/rosicrucians, I prefer Pekka Ervast.

But what I really do object to is the kind of idea that everyone should reach out for some sort of exceptionalism. That's western brainwashing as white as it comes. It doesn't make any sense, not intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, physically, psychologically, not on any plane that we exist on. That's what's really at the heart of the kind of consumerism you criticise, yet you try and promote a different variation of the same old same old. "Look dad, I did it all by myself!" "Well son, that's a fine piece of shit you got there." It's just another garden variety of the same drug of trying to feel accomplished/accepted/whatever.

Different people have different skills and it's a waste of time for everyone to try and master everything, even as there's no death. Better to con_centrate on the things we have a feeling about that we might be good at those things (good or any other kind of emotional baggage).

Just don't go and die, not just yet. We are already uniques.
