A little dark trip into space with Kaleidoscope and B2. They really belong together :D

Really great ambience! :tu: :tu: Any else used, or is it exclusively KS and B2?

@Galbanum:
I used a few field recordings (from an old fence f.e. ;) and some additional sounds but all goes trough Kaleidoscope and/or B2 (my own patches). I started to build my own patches (especially B2) and these tools are so much fun once you dive into it.

hmm... so, after using it a while i'm having a hard time not turning everything into some kind of tonal reverb or gritty noise shaped transformation.. or of course comb like resonances.. but it seems for something that comes from such a complex process that is so CPU intensive there should be more happening. perhaps i just suck at it or i'm missing something... but the results don't really differ much from combinations of other effects that are much lighter on the CPU and therefore less glitchy in normal use.. at least in my case..

and yet i can't stop fiddling with it! there are a million little sweet spots and variations.

i guess i'm curious how other people are using it and fitting it into their work.. other than the examples in this thread. anyone using it for more subtle processing where it's not the basis of a song?

hmm... oh well.

i need to do a comparison w/the various combfilters and resonators i have and other processing chains set up in audiomulch .. obviously the image interaction and scale flexibility isn't there in other processors but end results are similar.

i guess i'm searching for that thing kaleidoscope does better than anything else i already have to not fall into buyer's remorse. perhaps it's just the fun factor? which isn't a bad thing.

Have a good Mixolydian flight, 2 instances of KS processing all involved instruments.

Just picked this up, such a fresh take on making sounds. I love it, great work!
p.s. It sounds so nice as well :tu:

Thanks. Welcome to the party. :tu:

Thanks. Even better when you feed it into B2 or Aether.

Yes it is quite addictive. Wait until you see the next update. We were recently able to achieve some things that did not make it to the 1.0 that were part of the plan since the beginning but we were previously unable to solve. (And as a side effect the new discovery makes some existing things more efficient...) :tu:

I cant get enough of feeding various sounds through this beast and I don't even make ambient music :P Awesome stuff and I'll be sure to check out B2 and Aether someday, my current situation only allows one plugin a month :D

Two things I can suggest:

-Try focusing on rhythmic patterns. For starters, play around with some of the checkerboard images.

-Instead of trying to make finished sounds or effects directly from Kaleidoscope, use it to record samples to load into a sampler ana use that as the starting point for a new patch.
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

If there were an extra bundle discount for KS + B2 together I would spring for it. I am going to buy one or the other but not both right now (spending some $$ on software and sounds for my 50th birthday... which happens next weekend but am spreading around to several things that have been holding for a while).
