FWIW Roland Corp has its own XV editor.

EDIT: I just installed it to see if it would even run, and it seems to work ok so far, cool! I thought it might be too old, and not work with Windows 8.1. The latest date on the install files is 3/2/2006, I think that was around the time of Vista.
Anyway, so far so good.
Of course, I don't have the XV-5080 module to test it out, but at least the editor/librarian is working ok.

Good to know - tell us about your experience with the editor when you get module. Maybe I have to refresh my XV-5080 use and add it to me setup more closely, especially if the editor works fine with you in Win 8.1. Haven´t really time and motivation to test it, the development of the softsynths have been so rapid.

Ok will do. I just have so many synth plugins already, and really wanted something in hardware form that has a lot of sounds and hopefully with the editor, is easy to edit. At first, I was looking at getting a D-50 (or a 550), but then thought there are probably others from Roland that came out later which have even more sounds built-in. After some research, I thought this one looked like a winner.Harry_HH wrote:Good to know - tell us about your experience with the editor when you get module. Especially I'm interested knowing how the set up works, meaning in your DAW. E.g. since the XV editor is not running inside your sequencer, what are your connention/settings, how smooth the sound editing is, can you use only digital connections or do you use the analog inputs to your interface etc.? Btw, I'm on Live 9.

If anyone's still looking for a XV-5080 or XV-5050 editor (or 3080 or 2020!), I just released one today in my app Patch Base. It's for iPad only at the moment. It gives you a touchscreen to edit all of your voices, drum kits, and performances. And manage your banks, too. More info here on my blog:
