I used to be pissed off about it as well. Then I went and played ST2 in the 32 bit version of Cubase I kept installed. Honestly, there was a reason I rarely used ST. The sounds are crap.

I do believe it is the ToneControl effect on the master track that is necessary to make those old sounds shine, I just want to use my Melotron samples mostly, but I liked enough of the sounds I own. The player was the big issue for me, and I do like the new ST3 player well enough, I use T-Racks a lot so I like having the continuity between those effects in ST3. I dunno, I'm against their policy, not their product.bluedad wrote:I used to be pissed off about it as well. Then I went and played ST2 in the 32 bit version of Cubase I kept installed. Well, also maybe I can find Sampletank SE cheap. I REALLY don't need a lot more samples, I've got that covered. That said, anyone wanna sell ST3 SE for $20? I just put a WTB advert up in the forum. Hopefully that will do it.

One question about importing old sounds, does it copy everything over, can you then delete the old files? Are there any quirks with the process?
