Just a quick note/question. Since these are GPL, it seems like any track which these appear in will also need to be licensed under GPL. Anyone care to disagree with another/different read of the license terms?

It's a long time since I read the GNU license, but I'm reasonably sure it said that you're entitled to profit from derivative works, which would presumably include music.

I stumbled across them a couple of years ago, cleaned the noise out of them, then built Kontakt programs for them. If you'd like them I've put them here:-

I'd disagree, on the grounds of the original distributors own wording:

"but if you redistribute them in another form you should provide the original samples, and allow the recipient to redistribute these as well"

The GPL isnt a great license to use for samples (hence the existence of Creative Commons licenses), but the copyright holder here seems to distinguish between derivative samples (for which the GPL would apply) and a work utilising those samples.

To be absolutely sure, though, you should contact the copyright holder.
my other modular synth is a bugbrand

Even if I don't use them (I've basically stopped using samples of any kind for some reason) I'd love to listen to them. Thanks, Hemadrome!
