Why would anyone need Haliosonic if they already have Halion? I bought Halion 5 as an upgrade from Halionsonic but don't use Halionsonic now as Halion includes its library plus a lot more editability.

Good point, as Halion 5 "Includes the full version of HALion Sonic 2" according to specs at Steinberg website.aMUSEd wrote:Why would anyone need Haliosonic if they already have Halion? Well, actually the first release of Absolute didn't need a dongle as it didn't include Halion Sonic, just Halion Sonic SE. It was Absolute+ that introduced the need for the dongle.Guillermo Navarrete wrote:No, the Absolute 1 collection also needed a USB-eLicenser, just an example, HALion Sonic was included in that bundle and it requires a dongle.

The problems on OS-X are not just on Yosemite, I am having them too on Mavericks since updating to the latest builds. Halion 5 and Halionsonic 2 cause an exit crash if it has been used in Logic 10.2 at all, and Halion 5 also causes a host crash if it is inserted in any project where Padshop Pro has been used, even if Padshop Pro has been removed.Guillermo Navarrete wrote:Hello all,

"This is the new plan:
We are going to offer additional crossgrades for existing customers of HALion 5, HALion Sonic 2 and Groove Agent 4 to Absolute 2. Unfortunately it won’t be possible to offer individual crossgrades for different product combinations.
The crossgrades will be available with the next eLicenser server update at the end of September."
Wow. Props to Steinberg for listening to and acting on customer feedback.
Quick turnaround too.
Nicely done.

That's correct, but add retrologue to that list.aMUSEd wrote:The problems on OS-X are not just on Yosemite, I am having them too on Mavericks since updating to the latest builds. No one seems to be listening to the problem i have reported with groove agent 4 on both cubase AND logic either.
I just get "the vst is fine".
But it's NOT.. so those who say it's fine, please disprove my video with an alternate one proving otherwise!
Check out 11:43 in my video - i can repro it on 2 computers and BOTH cubase AND Logic.

I would like to know why there are no updates or new sound libraries were released in so many years for any of the products included other than Grove Agent? Where is Peter Krischker of Easy Sound? Can't he be hired to make new libraries? Nobody in the country making sounds any longer? It has been several years since anything was released. It really is not worth to upgrade. Looks like abandoned product.

After all these years seeing your posts on KVR, now I know what the sound of your voice sounds like That's cool. Good luck with your Steinberg issues. I have Halion 3, that's it. Totally OT but I recently switched my host to the 64bit version and nearly fell off my chair when I saw there was a 64 bit version of Halion 3 available to me. I thought for sure it would be stuck on 32-bit. It's pretty old... I only use it to open old projects but have been tempted by Halion 5 and Padshop Pro for a few years. Already have too much other stuff. Maybe one day... Sounds like the PC 64bit VST versions are working fine..TheoM wrote:That's correct, but add retrologue to that list.aMUSEd wrote:The problems on OS-X are not just on Yosemite, I am having them too on Mavericks since updating to the latest builds. This is the deals as I understand, by far the best still is to upgrade from Absolute VST collection 1, seeing that cost €299, while HALion cost more (€349)
60% rebate update from Absolute 1
30% rebate crossgrade from HALion 5
20% rebate crossgrade from HS2/Groove Agent 4

Yeh, better than a poke in the eye but I had been hoping for a little better. Waiting for the next Steiny sale now then ...
