When KVR did that survey recently, I really got to thinking about what my top 5 plugins are--those five that I could not live without. For me, they are:
Synapse Audio Dune 2
Native Instruments Kontakt
Vengeance Sound Philta XL
Vengeance Sound VPS Scope
U-he Presswerk
Anyone else care to share their top 5??

I don't recall a survey either. I use Studio One's onboard effects plugins, but for synths this is my top 5:
u-He Hive
NI Massive
Sylenth1
Dune 2
Nicky Romero Kick

Just got the KVR newsletter in my inbox. The survey is a linked ad in the upper right-hand corner. Completing the survey enters you in a drawing for a plugin bundle from Waves.
Better hurry! The offer expires on September 15th!

I don't remeber such question in survey... only "5 plugins you would take on deserted island".
Which is quite different - I could make a track with onlyone synth, but need a number of effects too.

I genuinely couldn't pick a top 5 that doesn't change depending on the context of what I'm trying to achieve.
Having said that, these are currently my most-used:
NI Massive
u-he Hive
RevealSound Spire
iZotope Trash2
Klanghelm SDRR
A longer term list would likely be quite different, overall CamelPhat has probably been my most used plugin.
