Hey Guys,
Just wanted to share with you my review of Ethnicity for Omnisphere by Ikarus. It's part of my This Thing Rules blog series over on my website, which features a small write-up about the software and a new piece of music created either entirely with, or heavily featuring the software being reviewed.
Check it out: http://www.bydavidrosen.com/2015/09/02/ ... ethnicity/
As always would love any feedback on the review and/or the demo track included, and any questions about Ethnicity, just let me know.

tbh it was a bit disappointing, I bought it on the basis of your review but expected to have more drones and ethnic sounds, there are some, but far too many boring bread and butter sounds, I didn't buy an ethnic instruments bank to have Moog leads, basses and trance sounds (so many arps!).

Hey amused
Sorry you didn't like Ethnicity. To be honest I looked at basses and arps and all that as icing. The ethnic type sounds that make up the bulk of the package I think are a great value. Especially at the current discount price. I know that these are definitely sounds I can see myself going back to again in future compositions.

I didn't say I completely hate it, just was disappointing there were so many arps, basses, VA sounds and trancey patches - there are some more along the lines I was expecting but much less than half.

The audiodemo is what keeps me away.. ..call me crazy but i can't stand trancy AND ethno in one bank. So i decided that this is nothing for me.

No problem, and the sounds itself are top notch. I'm a bit strange in this but for people who don't care about the genre (in the end you have to tweak the presets anyway) this is a good buy.

Well looks like the bank was updated and they didn't tell anyone:
The original release contained 123 patches and no multis
https://rekkerd.org/ikarusmusic-release ... isphere-2/
now it appears to have:
154 patches
32 multis
http://ikarusmusic.com/ikarus-spectraso ... -ethnicity
would have been nice to get an email or something - especially since my original link to the download has long since expired and there is no user area on the site
