I have a couple full percussion libraries that include a marimba.
They sound nice and have always blended into my orchestral template with ease. I got to spend some time with PSI Marimba and have to admit, this is my new go-to marimba - especially for solo marimba score.
What are you using for Marimba?

yeah i mean for orchestral use this might be fun & convenient. but the sound is really boring. who needs another "authentic" clean marimba these days? just for the roll-keyswitch and 2different mic positions? oooh. not impressed. i'm always looking for cool new mallet sounds but i wish they would have added some grit to it. like the omnisphere 2 kalimbascope, cinematique or the sounddust libraries.
also not trying to offend you but this post reads like advertising big time.

I was looking into Marimbas a little while ago and I only found around 4 authentic ones - Sonic couture, Orange tree samples, Spitfire and PSI. Now there's also one by Versilian studios so that makes 5.weasel79 wrote:yeah i mean for orchestral use this might be fun & convenient. but the sound is really boring. who needs another "authentic" clean marimba these days? just for the roll-keyswitch and 2different mic positions? oooh. not impressed. i'm always looking for cool new mallet sounds but i wish they would have added some grit to it. like the omnisphere 2 kalimbascope, cinematique or the sounddust libraries.

But you consider that a lot? How many piano libraries is there out there? 50+? Violins? Must be 20+.
Drum kit? I think you'd be hard pushed to find a sample developer that haven't recorded one.

Maybe I shouldn't post this, but it's 4:40 AM and all I really know about marimbas is this...

My original double bass library has to be the best bass for this kind of marimba orchestra performance.
