Auto Volume Swell with Melda?

There has to be a way to do this (hopefully with the creative or free bundles) that would simulate an auto volume swell pedal. Basically I'm looking to swell into my guitar notes instead of hearing the attack.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

If I understand it right, you could easily link an envelope modulator to a simple volume control of any plugin, which has a volume or gain knob (I think it's nearly every plugin, hehe) and at least one modulator. In this you had to adjust the on / off thresholds correct and just tweak the attack like you want it to.

I assume that you want to achieve similar sounds like here:

Hope I could help. Maybe I can get even more specific, if you would like to and if I understood your question right! :)

Well, I just tried it, hehe. I even made a sound demo and a preset, which I saved as a text file. Unfortunately you cannot upload MP3 or TXT files here, so I uploaded just the TXT inside a ZIP. Copy the content in your clipboard and just paste it into the free MBandpass plugin.

Hope this works and is something you are looking for. :tu:

Edit:
I noticed that it would more clever to post the textfile directly into my post so you have not to downlaod the ZIP etc!

Thank you. Yes, that youtube effect you linked to is exactly what I'm going for, and thank you for taking the time to create a preset! Unfortunately it turns out I have not paid for the full versions of the free bundle so I cannot load your preset. I'm try to replicate your instructions with MFilter but so far have not had success. I think I need to watch those modulation video tutorials again!

Thanks for setting me in the right direction. Hopefully I'll get to the finish line. :)

I'm getting closer but have run into a snag. I get the effect I want on the first note, but not any of my repeated notes. The volume doesn't swell anymore. I've attached a picture of my settings if anyone would care to take a look. Thanks again for all the help!

It looks like the input volume is too low, just increase it or play with the detector settings (not visible here). Check the tutorial:

Umm, not sure what to do here, didn't seem to work (aren't presets xml files?...or mpresets?) :help:

The "real" presets are XML, if I remember correct. My file is just the clipboard you get, when you press "copy" on any plugin. Having this in the clipboard and pressing "paste" should paste the settings onto the actual plugin.

... maybe Vojtech can give a better solution for sharing presets? :D

Also try the "action on" settings.

I think copy & paste the settings as text is the best solution, what could ever be easier? ;)

I'm completely bamboozled here.

I've unzipped Tagirijus' attachment.
I have MBandpass_Auto_Volume_Preset folder on desktop.
Inside it is MBandpass_Auto_Volume_Preset.txt
I open it and copy the contents (about a million numbers and letters).
I open MBandPass in Reaper.
I right click all over the place, no context menu comes up (I can't paste).

I go back to the folder on desktop, open it, copy the text file rather than it's contents, same deal in MBandPass, can't paste.

I click on import in MBandPass Preset panel, navigate to the folder on desktop, no importable files appear in the panel on the right.

What am I missing?

Maybe you have to open the plugin first and then copy the content of the file and then paste it ... maybe loading up a plugin frees the clipboard or similar? Just an idea.

I had tried that as well, no deal. I guess I just don't understand. Where exactly do I paste?

You don't right click. Instead there is a dedicated copy and paste buttons. It looks like a little clipboard.
