Another 2 finalized patches from 2nd Thoughts, I played the chord progression for testing one of the patches, then it turned into a final demo as I liked it. So ETA is either Friday or Saturday, any fence-sitters wanting to save a little cash, grab it soon.

About time someone else posted on this thread, no? ;-)

I pre-ordered 2nd Thoughts and I definitely didn't have any second thoughts when I started browsing 2nd Thoughts a couple of days ago.

Anyone familiar with Simon's 'thumb print' when it comes to sound design will feel right at home – the patches are all dynamic, evolving and extremely playable, be they drones, pads, sequences/arps, leads or basses. The Zebra 2 Perform x/y controls are used extensively, often all four of them and always in musically useful ways.

Simon has squeezed sounds out of Zebra 2 that I didn't realise it was capable of. Because of this, you need a reasonable computer to play some of the patches. If you play some of the drones and pads polyphonically, what with their often long releases, you'd better have some CPU juice to spare in your machine. It's worth it, though. These sounds are adventures, almost every single one.

Like I said, no second thoughts…

If it were easy, anybody could do it!

Thank's for the great feedback, that definitely makes my day! I did program all of these sounds at a very low buffer size inside Logic to estimate the CPU tax, but my Mac Pro seems to be quite capable so it's hard to estimate how other systems will cope. But as you said that mainly counts for the drones and pads which use several oscillators and complex filter/LFO/MSEG routings.

I really re-discovered Zebra with this set and will most probably make a set for the Dark Zebra soon, which I don't own yet but I heard only good things about the Diva filters (I don't use Diva).
