Just to recap, so all the information is in one place. If you have already entered me, thanks a lot -- I'm new and have no idea what to do.
link:
https://soundcloud.com/kneasle/forest-of-oxe
I'm entering Forest of Oxe,
Host: FL Studio 12, Fruity Edition
Synths:
34x Oxe FM
( 1x Layer: To control the drums from one piano roll. IS NOT A SYNTH, JUST A CONTROLLER )
Effects:
25x Fruity Parametric EQ 2
2x Fruity Delay 2
2x Fruity Compressor
4x Fruity Peak Controller
1x Fruity Reeverb 2
1x Fruity Balance
All effects native to FL Studio.
I was forced to use the delay/reverb plugins because the Oxe Reverb/Delay amount knobs just keeps resetting to 0 each time I close the project.
Thanks,
Kneasle

You did exactly the right thing. Welcome to OSC.Kneasle wrote:Just to recap, so all the information is in one place. If you have already entered me, thanks a lot -- I'm new and have no idea what to do.
Side note: FL recommends using Patcher instead of Layer, it looks like (I was just curious exactly what it was and had to look it up, not an FL user myself).

here my OSC 81 entry:
"Hotchpotch"

Done in Reaper.
11 instances of Oxe.
EQs from Reaper DAW
Some of them have reverb or delay from Oxe itself and there is a Loudmax limiter on master channel.

Guys,
SoundCloud gets SO MUCH ON MY NERVES currently!
I cannot post comments anymore! But I want to comment to your tracks. Tested on recent firefox and Safari. OSX and iPad. It doesn't work!
Even likes disappear.
This sucks so much.
Sorry to be such negative. They seem to even removed the contact form. What is going on there? Putting heads into sand and say "There is no problem anymore!" ??

Hm, my comments have gone through today. Chrome on Windows though.
But yeah, Soundcloud is like democracy. The worst, if you disregard all the alternatives

Hi everybody
My first OSC.
(And first public track anywhere, for that matter!)
https://soundcloud.com/zarf/yellow-friday
29 OXE FM
Ableton EQs,
Ableton Compressors,
Ableton Reverb,
Ableton Saturator &
Ableton Simple Delay
(I too couldn't get Oxe to save the delay settings with the track)
Ferric TDS and LoudMax
Any feedback much appreciated, I'm not very good at finishing tracks (and quite a novice at mixing)... pushing myself to learn more through this great competition

Made in Ableton
15x Oxe FM
9x Eq 8 (Ableton Stock Eq) (Used for mixing purposes-- boosting a few frequencies, highpassing to allow space for the kick.)
1x Limiter No6 (Freeware) (stuck on the master channel)
Aside from that, I also made a faux-chorus effect by taking multiple otherwise identical instances, pitching them slightly up/down, using the built-in delay to push some back a little, and panning them left and right. If this is against the rules, please tell me; the sound isn't affected a whole lot, and I'd be happy to change.

@gabe - looks fine. Stacking instances for any purpose is definitely allowed. (And encouraged, if it helps to make a better track!)

I was blown away by the voice-ish patch in there! I looked through the presets and only one is similar, choirpad. How did you make it sound female?Hanz Meyzer wrote:Finally here my OSC 81 entry:

Its just an illusion If you would hear the sound in solo, it would almost sound like saw-ish. The rest is eq-ing. Look for "vowel eq" or "formant", or here: http://quadrophone.com/effects/make-a-formant-filter/camsr wrote:I was blown away by the voice-ish patch in there! Pffff...I finally spend some time on this one, which is kinda fun, but it does some crazy things every now and then... kind of a temper.
Well, heck...taming time. But, really, percussions are so fun with this thing!
Ah, thanks, Hanz, I like the idea and have done things like it occasionally. The other nifty thing is to use an EQ with a bit of saturation, which can really elevate the sound of OXE quite a lot.
