Banshee: Keyswitch to turn off/on chord mode?

I've been wondering this for a while, especially after trying Ample Sound's Ample Metal AME guitar. There's a keyswitch to go from play mode to chord/strum mode and vice versa. Is there something similar in Banshee? If not, couldn't I presumably automate such an event to switch between the playing modes? I won't try this until probably Sunday, but I thought it'd be good to ask before I waste my time should it not be possible.

The ability to switch between chord modes via keyswitches/CCs is high on our list of things to add.
