No presets at all.DubLifeSD wrote:Props to Izotope. Looks like fun.
Does it come with any presets? I'm going to have to explore it this evening.

While I really like the idea, and yes, thanks for iLok authorization, it's now on my iLok, but the U/I is just awful. It's like they asked a bunch of color blind girl scouts having a my little pony convention to choose the colors.
I don't think that I'm exaggerating here, this is the worst color scheme that I can recall seeing. It's worse than those freeware synths with the alien rainbow color schemes. It's worse than the horrible font, monochromatic, tron inspired freeware synths. It's worse than trying to watch the superbowl on the color console television that's been sitting on your grandmas porch for the last 22 years because the blue gun died in the picture tube and everything is just some blurry shaded of red and green, but you're color blind so you get those confused, and her grandkids smeared Vaseline all over the screen when they were trying to watch porn on it and wanted the penthouse effect.
Pretty much the ugliest commercial plugin that I have ever seen.

I'm in love with that GUI for nostalgic reasons. True, not the most friendly color scheme for functionality, but it also doesn't get in the way of anything considering how damn easy the delay is.
This is a great tool.
Theo, I don't know if you spotted this one already, but check the Thrash on it. Its not as easy to turn off the distortion the same as it pulls back on Logic's delay, but its still pretty damn close.
I really wish there was a gain on the filter for emphasizing frequencies as opposed to just cutting them off, but all the same I can work with this. I would have paid for it, and $50 IMO would have been a great price too.
Great freebie.
Considering all the great free delays and great cheap delays, I'm really looking forward to see where Fabfilter takes Timeless 3.

Yes, resonance would have been great.elxsound wrote:I really wish there was a gain on the filter for emphasizing frequencies as opposed to just cutting them off, but all the same I can work with this.

Do you need to be wearing 3D glasses while you use it?

Yeah, I think that's it. Those weird shadows, they really need an option for this.Chandlerhimself wrote:Do you need to be wearing 3D glasses while you use it?

Just had a play with it. It's nice indeed. A unique approach. I'm old and don't mind the GUI that much. Less transparency in the GUI would be cool. The delay has 2 modes (analog/grain) and you can use both modes at the same time on different frequencies if you want to by setting one delay to Analog and the second to Pitch. It's a fun plugin to play with and it sounds good. Keeper.

The concept of different input velocities triggering different/differing effects is really cool. It's starting to happen in guitar pedals too (dynamic tremolo speed for instance - and ofcourse dynamic wah filters have been around forever).

Click the sprocket at the bottom and disable Reactive Meters. Still not enough contrast, but beggars can't be choosersghettosynth wrote:Yeah, I think that's it. Those weird shadows, they really need an option for this.Chandlerhimself wrote:Do you need to be wearing 3D glasses while you use it?

It's not quite as fun as NI Replika when you sweep the time knob in time mode. However the concept of two delays being triggered with dynamics is a interesting concept!
This might have been far more interesting if they did this with multi-band dynamics though.
You know so it's something like this and so on.
Band 1
|
Envelope follower (Used to trigger the delay like DDLY does)

|
Filter
Delay

Thanks, I'll do that. Beggers can bitch though, knowhatimsayin?lachrimae wrote:Click the sprocket at the bottom and disable Reactive Meters. it's a cool plug... !
found a bug: pitch transpose not really calibrated accurately... you need to set it @ about 8st to get a 5th
I bet they're working on a "premium" version on this with modulation and what-not... still interesting though!
btw, You can use this as a flexible transient shaper!

Sweetness. Looking forward to downing this.
Just a note: You can get this free directly from Izotope. Don't let some online vendor make you buy something in order to get it. That's a dirty trick that I saw one of them pulling in todays batch of email ads.
