Like it says.
Installed and had a quick look. The first thing that hits you is the new colour scheme - looks like a packet of Smarties has been spilled across the desktop.

(Apologies if this has been posted before.)

First thing that hit me is that it won't run. It wants Jack, which I thought they got rid of on Windows for MB3. Looked up and installed Jack, and Windows isn't let me modify the Properties as Jack wants me to. I try to run MB3, and now it says "no JACK server installed".

@Ayorinde, you can fix that by clicking "Preferences->Theme->Restore Defaults". This indicates that some items are missing from your "theme" file. You might have made some changes to your theme in a previous version (?)

@filkertom: Although Mixbus can work with Jack, v3 doesn't come with JACK, nor does it expect it to be installed. Just choose "Audio System: Portaudio" and "Driver: ASIO".

Best,

Yeah, I gathered that!
Appreciate the response :tu:

I've tested it a bit on existing projects and I've got to say that I'm very happy with this release so far. Works without a flaw on my machine and seems overall a bit more responsive and speedier than the interim releases, although this might just be the placebo effect. Anyway, MB is getting better. thumbs up! :tu:

Hey, Ben! Small problem. I don't GET to Mixbus. I don't get to the "Audio System: Portaudio" and "Driver: ASIO" part. I don't get into the program. I start it, and I get a grey popup that says,

No JACK server found anywhere on this system. Please install JACK and restart.
Press to exit

Is there anywhere else I can choose those options? Or a command-line version?

@filkertom: Weird, I've never heard of that problem before. Please write our support email at: mixbus@harrisonconsoles.com and we will investigate it further. We can run Mixbus in the Windows "Command Prompt" to get more details.

I want to thank Ben @ Harrison for helping me out. He pointed me where to look, and what I found was that the remnants of Mixbus 2 (which I thought had been nuked when I installed MB3) were still on my system, and that's what kept trying to run. I uninstalled both that and Jack, and everything works now. Many thanks, Ben!

did the $59 sale end?

Also can someone explain to me the plugin membership? It says for $9 a month you get half price plugins.

But the way i am understanding it is i could pay the $9, get the mixbus plugins i want for half price, and then not continue the membership. Is that correct? Cause the plugins are unbelievably overpriced (imho).

I just love the gui of mixbuss so much.

Also, does 3.1 finally have vst sidechain? Hows the overall stability now with lots of 3rd party plugs and *especially* UAD?

Do waves plugins work in it? They are unsupported and i have never used waves in an unsupported daw.

Cheers

Any Toontrack beta testers around? I would like to make a request for Toontrack to start supporting Harrison Mixbus. EZD2 works for the most part, but EZ Keys crashes.
