The dev has confirmed on FB that the Findasound site is undergoing maintenance. Not clear when it will be working again.
Fair enough, these things happen.
Though it would be great if, at the very least, Findasound could post a "Site under maintenance" message or something, instead of letting someone who just wants to be a customer enter a lot of details, get an error, try again, get an error, etc, then document the problem, contact Findasound, get no reply, post here, etc. Unless the site is so messed up it can't support a "Site under maintenance" message.
When sites fail like this, it reminds me of Share-it a few years ago -- it interposed itself between the customer and paypal, and then made the transaction a real PITA. (They've gotten better now). Sites like Findasound are supposed to facilitate sales, not obstruct them. It's a disservice to the devs who sell there. I wonder how many folks will just walk away after trying unsuccessfully to buy the library, rather than bug-testing, opening a ticket with Findasound, etc.

Did you try contacting Stefano via his contact form here?

I did contact Stefano. That's where I heard that the site is under maintenance. No ETA re when it'll be back up.garryknight wrote:Did you try contacting Stefano via his contact form here?

Tried one more time on the site, failed, contacted Stefano again, he has sorted me out, downloading now , yay
Stefano, it seems you deserve a more professional site for your nice libraries!

I've had a chance to play with Clara for around half an hour. Well, it was certainly worth the trouble. At $40 this is insanely great for atmospheric vocals. Seems to have been made with a lot of love and thought. In my short session I auditioned things in the legato, fx and phrase libraries.
Anyway, I quickly put together this Kontakt multi, using the setup below, which if it were a patch I'd call it
"Press + hold any single white key; fall in love ; try another; find religion..."
The multi has two libraries, both controlled by the same midi channel. One is Clara's phrase library; the second, mixed in low, is a vowel morphing patch from the (underrated, imho) Kontakt Factory Library Choir. Change the vowel morphs subtly while a note sustains. You will thank me. Actually, thank you Stefano!
Postscript -- Findasound got back with me and apologised for the server problems and even generously offered me something for my trouble, which I will decline, just because I wasn't coming from that angle, but it's nice of them. They do have some nice-sounding ethnic libraries though which I might investigate later.

I knew you'd like it. I didn't know you'd like it so much you'd post about it twice
But you do, so I'll put my invoice in the post...lingyai wrote: By the way, if I don't like it, it's all your fault

Obviously the well known double post error happened here.garryknight wrote:I knew you'd like it. I didn't know you'd like it so much you'd post about it twice

PS. Server problem seems to be solved. Ordered without any trouble.
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

I forgot if Clara was recorded dry. Can effects be turned off for all patches, or are some baked in to recording?

I believe all samples were recorded dry, but I haven't listened to all of them. You can turn effects off for each instrument. The entire set of samples are embedded in Kontakt instruments. I haven't counted them but there are plenty, and it looks like Stefano is working on more to come.Musical Gym wrote:I forgot if Clara was recorded dry. Very expressive. I don't know of any other reasonably priced voice lib that can do this. I assume the modulations are all in the hands of the user?
When can we expect the soulful version 2.1 of Clara?

If it were easy, anybody could do it!
