FM/granular/wave freeware with eight mod envelopes, mod matrix, mixer section with 75 parameters, preset banks by Tim Conrardy, Tim Waters, etc, morph between presets, the list goes on. If the retro gui is too small for you, get the iPad XT version ($5 !) and share patches with the desktop.

Also, Big Tick's Rhino has similar 'character' and also from that era.
