Hi.
For some years I have been collecting soundfonts online. I found some nice arab and turk instruments on sf2 format that have been distributed online freely and without any copyright notice. I joined the best of them in one single soundfont file and also made some small adjustments to make some of them sound better.
Here is the link for those who want to download it.

There are also some compositions that I made using these sounds. You can watch them here:
Samai Rast:

Tahmila Bayati:

Other similar works may be found at my page: http://www.youtube.com/user/fernandoamartin777
Thank you.

Thank you all of you for listening and giving feedback.
About the original soundfonts, some of them I downloaded years ago and don't remember what name the original ones had. Some of them that I downloaded recently were from a file called orientalpack_00.zip that I found somewhere online. If you use a soundfont editor you can see the original instruments and maybe organize them better. As for the sustained kanun, it was one of emrekanun soundfonts, but it had a key that sounded too thin and others that sounded too loud or too low. I did what I could to correct it.

If it helps anyone, here is a quick Kontakt conversion as in telling Kontakt to convert with no shells or anything. An added bonus is it has all the individual wave files if anyone wants them.

As for commercial use it's very hard to tell about copyrights. I'm sure that I found it all for free but where they come from is a complicated matter.Glitch Doctor wrote:It's good, however putting it in Commercial Use Questionable folder on my harddrive.
That beautiful ney I don't even remember where I found. It was more than 3 years ago. And I think I made some adjustments on it.
Some instruments are from eth emre ... soundfonts (e.g. eth emre kanun, emre ud etc). I made a lot of research trying to find the origin of those nice soundfonts but I couldn't. I would really like to find more of them.
If anyone finds more please tell us.

Sorry, but there are many instruments that I didn't find too or found with very poor quality. That's why I posted only those ones.
