I used to have the very first album Soft Cell produced, the one that was only released on tape, but some bastard nicked it.

I got a copy of Weldon Irvine's In Harmony, which is valued at €150+
I picked it up at trift store for a much lower price, not sure why it is in such high demand, could be it was used as sample source for a later hit?

I'm not much of a record collector... Maybe 'Songs for Swinging Larvae' or Plastics both albums, I've got on vinyl. They are reasonably rare, but can be found cheap, if one is persistent, as the bands are not high profile.

I can't find it. I left a pile of records and CDs in the apartment lobby for people to take for free when I moved. It may have been in that pile.Numanoid wrote:A well treated copy can fetch something like €130

The chess type "boring" cover may conceal its greatness. I picked up mine in excellent conditition at at thrift store for just like £3
It is the basis for the über house classic Sueno Latino, which makes it so sought after, and it is of course an excellent effort by Manuel Göttsching in its original form to.

I remember it. On side 1, he sort of accidentally invented minimal techno house. On side 2, he added noodling jazz guitar to the mix. It's a good record but I probably thought I wouldn't listen to it again and decided to leave it behind.Numanoid wrote:The chess type "boring" cover may conceal its greatness. I am glad we are in the digital era. I would need a warehouse to keep every record, CD, cassette, and 8 track tape I ever owned.

The most personally valuable to me would have to be the Color Him Father lp by the Winstons. As a junglist it's beyond money. I passed it up first time I saw it, having not read the title, and the cover pic of nature looks like every easy listening/gospel lp one would see. Then I got it, 2 days later.
25 cents! Ah, those crazy thrift stores!
