Hope you like it. Cheers!
Nice to know I'm not the only OSC noob here XD

Of course, your two's second attempt sounds way better than mine XD[/quote]

Come on man. You squeezed some really nice sounds out of the synth. We noobs need to stick together! 8)
Failure is success in progress.

YES!

It wasn't so much squeezed as it was gently pushing the delay amount to the max and letting things happen XD

Luigi has a little diamond in the rough on his hands, which could become a bright beacon to draw in people to all his creations. Needless to say that Sinnah could eventually become a great inspiration/foundation for a great commercial piece later on. I wish him really, really only the best! He deserves it! :tu:
Yes, I agree it will be something great soon.

A vibrato section? Yes please. Please make sure you can delay the onset of the vibrato so you can have a pure note played which the player then adds vibrato to the tail of the sound. Even better, add a little extra control to add a small random offset to the delay to "humanize" the vibrato (and the freq of vib as well!)- if it always happens exactly say 550ms after note on for every note, then it gets pretty boring. I'm pretty sure something like this will not be hard in the context of this wee synth given how the other parameter "modulations" happen :-)

PS Luigi, you are most welcome to my little bit of praise - awesome job - will be good to watch progress. Keep us informed please.

Hi dB,

yes for the delay on vibrato, but even with a small random offset (which I can add of course) you'll never get close
to the expressivity Taron got in his track solos. As you know in hardware keyboards the ModWheel is usually
linked to vibrato depth, so that you can play with the timing of the vibrato fade in, while playing notes.
Some random drift in rate and depth may help to "humanize" as you say,
but it will not boost the expressivity like a realtime control on those parameters can do.
[expressivity or expressiveness in english?]

Thanks again

Hi all.

Nice challenge this month.. Thought I would not have time for it with a newborn at home, but Sinnah proved to be such an interesting synth I just had to make a run for it. :)

Here's my track:

https://soundcloud.com/subject36/subjec ... e-up-again

It's written in Logic Pro X, using 21 instances of Sinnah.
Internal compressor, delay, reverb and eq used on the channels, and TDR Kotelikov compressor and TDR Slick EQ on the master bus.
I also tried an instance of the Ignite Amps PTEq-X for some Pultec style EQ.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I used som Sweetness to work the transients..

Best of luck to you all! :)

Analogue and digital alike - inside and outside the box. All good music is done with passion and love, not religious convictions!

Yup! When playing live (and tracking!), of course I would use the mod wheel as you say for human delay and also human speed and change of speed of the vibrato - my daughter plays sax, clarinet, flute professionally, so know a lot about this area :tu: However, for those who are stuck with midi programming, then a fully featured vibrato module would certainly help a lot. :hihi:

Hey,

Its been a wile since the last challenge I did (Synthmaster). Well, the other day I decided to give it a go again so here we go. Did it in 5 days the drums were 2 of them LOL lots of layers.

I made most of the sounds (Lots of layering to get a good drum) with a couple presets in the mix. All plugins were logic native.

The count is:

17 - Sinnah
a bunch of Logic EQ's, Compressors
a few envelopers, reverbs, delays and overdrive (for light saturation all audible distortion is coming from Sinnah) and some utility plugs.

Hope you like it and good luck!

Wasn't planning on making a track this month but something came out anyway. Quite limiting synth which was a good challenge. Got a bit rushed putting this together but I'm really proud of some parts. :)

Track specs:

All sounds made from home made default preset.

~20 Instances of Sinnah
DAW: FL Studio
DAW FX: Maximus, EQUO, Fruity Parametric EQ 2, Fruity Peak controller, Fruity Reverb 2, Fruity Filter, Fruity Compressor, Fruity Delay

Hi everyone,

My track for this month.

It's a great synth, and I was drawn to the more 'orchestral' sounds, so I did something with those. All tweaked presets this month.

https://soundcloud.com/zarf/zarf-life-t ... fast-train

16 instances of Sinnah in Ableton.
Ableton EQs, Compressors, Delays, Reverb & Limiter plus a touch of Saturation on one part.

Enjoy and good luck everyone :)

I had a hard time taming this beast, I don't think I've ever used more EQ.
