Best solo violin price-quality-wise?

So I'm looking to get some solo instruments, in particular, a violin (or viola) and I just discovered Auddict's Virtuoso Violin. It's currently at -50% off, 50e, so even at normal price, it's cheap compared to some of the expensive 200e libraries, or even Embertone's, but how well does it compare to those? It certainly has an impressive list of articulations:
Normal Sustain
Stutter (a quick stuttered grace note before the main sustain)
Crescendo
FP (loud then suddenly quiet with a crescendo back up)
Marcato (A more accented pronounced attack and note)
Harmonics
Tremolo
Trill Semitone
Trill Tone
Eight sets/combinations of grace note shorts
Octave up shorts
Pizzicato
Spiccato
Staccato on-string (detached playing without lifting the bow)
Major chords
Minor chords
I like the demos, also for their other instruments, especially their brass series. They seem to have nailed a great feel of presence with their 7-mic-technique, but unfortunately there is a lack of reviews for their catalogue.

Mine has the best price to anything ratio as it is infinite, but not of course the quality you need... ;P

This is amazing, although seems to still not quite ready for fast passages. It sounds so alive and realistic it's almost creepyotristan wrote:<promo of an uvi powered product>

Thanks BigCat, that review was very insightful! Bohemian Violin not only looks, but sounds very tempting! But budget-wise, Auddict's VV is currently very tempting too and it also sounds very good... No one has insight or experience about Auddict Audio's libraries? They seem to be relatively new and there's barely any info about them and, correct me if I'm mistaken, but the intro sales have been up for months now?
They do have a good (the audio demos are where they should be) professional and shiny site, although a one that reminds me a bit about 8Dio. Make what you want out of that.

Virharmonic Bohemian violin is the best and most expressive violin library that i own.Combine this with the fact that there are quarterly updates coming this year to improve it and the updates are free.

I think the Chris Hein solo violin is awesome and offers you more control and it is more versatile as the Bohemian Violin if you use a lot keyswitching, automations and midi cc etc.....BUT... i decided to buy the Bohemian Violin because it doesn´t need all that to sound interesting. It is the opposite and performs for you but i wish sometimes it had a bit more control.
The Chris Hein violin has tons of FX features etc. but as a Falcon owner i can load the Bohemian Violin inside Falcon and can use all of it´s goodies there including great FX, sequencers, endless LFO´s, modulations...etc.
The thing i really miss are great slurs and portamento slides. Emotional Cello f.e. is still the very best for me in this area. Sadly they (Harmonic Subtones sell it via best service) have no solo violin yet.
But the price of the Bohemian Violin will raise up when the first expansion (from 3) will arive... which could be pretty soon and you get for free as "early adaptor".

+1 for Embertone.
I like Bohemian but it has the same restriction that I found with Tina Guo Cello in that it's too emotional for a lot of things which restricts it's use when you're using it in a mix of other instruments. Don't get me wrong, it sounds great and I love it but being that it is so articulate and that it's not yet finished as the expansions are coming out over the course of almost a year if I remember correctly, the safer bet if you want something that is versatile and sounds amazing for me is Embertone.

Bohemian will IMHO be the only virtual violin I'll ever need after all expansions are out. They simply got the concept and sound right.

I'm also happy to have it as Falcon and not another Kontakt library.

I take that it compares to it's competition favorably?Aloysius wrote:http://www.auddict.com/virtuoso-violin.html

The collective opinion here seems to be that Bohemian has gotten, if not everything, most things right.
No one seems to know and I don't think the guys at Auddict know either, at least from what I can gather from a brief exhange with Auddict's KVR-contact. However, I think they've been up since the release, despite originally being marketed as only a week or two intro-offer. As the sale has been up there for months over that original period, they can probably pull it out any time now in complete silence. Might happen next week, or month.bharris22 wrote:Anyone know when that sale will end?
Btw, does anyone know what happened to Simple Sam Samples? The Paganini Violin library (I do know it's spiccatos only) and Upright have been up on sale for year or two now and nothing's happened on their page.
