Both have been quite a while in the market now, so what is the KvR-consensus about these two synths, soundwise, if you want to have the most analog sounding one?

I´m aware that Reaktor is very flexible and can sound like other synths than analog ones as well, but, when trying to sound analog, how does it compare to Diva?

give audio examples of what you have in mind when you say 'analog'

Moog, Oberheim, etc. Not Razor or Massive.

Most Reaktor ensembles are not as analog sounding as Diva. Monark is an excellent mini moog recreation so Reaktor has the "ability" to sound analog.

Which of the two do I personally prefer for that analog sound? I'd go with Diva because it's easier to come by. Reaktor takes a lot more work.

The fastest way start researching is the audio demos

Building your own Reaktor ensembles from scratch has a steep learning curve.

While I prefer Monark when it comes to a strict Minimoog emulation, I don't think anyone can deny that Diva sounds incredibly analog.

But it doesn't in this test. The real analog is a world away in terms of 3 dimensionality, weight, creaminess, solidity.. It really is. Diva does a nice impersonation of analog but that's about as far as it goes for me.

Well, results from GS poll (before results were told) say otherwise :P everything else is subjective glasses and confirmation bias. :)

I simply do not buy the claim DIVA is far off from real analog.

VSP's first DIVA bank shows its versatility padwise.

The Luftrum sets are among if not the best examples of how real it can sound.

Exactly! Plus, users had a 50/50 chance of being right, so by default, about half the folks are going to say, "told ya I had golden ears, the difference was huge to me" (even if it was just a lucky guess). Others are going to argue, "I would have got it if not for the crappy Youtube audio." Then you have guys like me, who think "the two are close enough that it's a non-issue."

I thought one was a bit brighter (I think it was Diva), but otherwise, who gives a crap. If you're argument is that Diva doesn't sound analog after listening to that test, then I don't know what does. Model-E perhaps?

Analog is in the ear of the beholder. Its like asking "which tastes more like coffee; freeze-dried coffee or percolated coffee?"

I didn't know which is which when I listened to the clips. One was strong, fatter, weightier, and I preferred that at first, but then another one came in and was livelier, more organic. In the end, I prefer the latter, which turned out to be OB8. So in this test, Diva seems to be fatter with more weight to the sound, but a bit too precise. I think it's very close, though, but would still prefer the OB8.

The liveliness of the latter, I believe, comes from phasing/drifting which can be tuned in Diva, so probably it just needs a little bit more fine tuning... Not sure though.
Peace, my friends. I'm not seeking arguments here. ;)

Get Diva...

Reaktor 6 Blocks sound very good... but it is modular, needs to be built and is only monophonic. Monark is a top notch Minimoog emulation, but so is Diva and Diva is so much more.

Diva is fast, easy to use, presets are straight-forward (Reaktor is a bit wonky)
