Best practice:
a) Start Sundog before S1?
b) Start S1 before Sundog?
c) Order don't matter dude.

Fyi - Sundog still fluctuates in tempo values displayed; today it varies between 119-121 so far; this is with the updated settings fixes applied last night.

I think it is c) ;). At least for all DAWs that I tested. In most cases my DAW is running anyway, so b) is the most common situation here.

Hey hauke quick question. Would Sundog allow me to fit chords to a pre-existing melody?

Not automatically, no. But if you know the scale of the melody, Sundog's chords page will help you a lot to figure out good chords by ear.

Here's what I do from time to time:
  • Find out the scale of the melody.
  • Play the melody in a background loop.
  • Open Sundog's chords page.
  • Click on the chords until a good progression comes up ;)
Cheers,
Hauke
