Any (Relayer-style) granular multi-tap delay?

Hi

I just demoed UVI Relayer. Really awesome plugin. The only thing I miss is some granular/stutter processing in those two effects modules.
Any other delay plugin having that feature (and preferably similar to Relayer in concept)?

Cheers

Nothing? :(

Nothing I know of has the same concept and options Relayer has.
Windows 7, Cubase 9.5 and some extra plug-ins | Takamine EN-10C and PRS Mira

Sandman can get granular but yeah it doesn't have the same options. Could you not combine a granular effect plugin with Relayer?

I don't know of one, but I love Relayer and I think having a grain delay option in the effects modules would be really cool and useful. Put in a feature request! :hyper:

In the meantime, you might want to check out MeldaProduction to see if any of their plugins meet your needs. Or, perhaps there's a Reaktor ensemble that does (if you have Reaktor, that is)?
Logic Pro | PolyBrute | MatrixBrute | MiniFreak | Prophet 6 | Trigon 6 | OB-6 | Rev2 | Pro 3 | SE-1X | Polar TI2 | Blofeld | RYTMmk2 | Digitone | Syntakt | Digitakt | Integra-7

Yeah, I was gong to say, Meldaproduction's MXXX or MXXX core could probably do it. But I don't really understand what exactly has to be "like Relayer".

For MXXX Core you'd need the delay and granular, obviously.

Thanks Krakatau! :tu: I've never heard about the Boscomac stuff before. They look great. I'm gonna check them out.

I could probably accomplish this with a couple instances of Delay and Granular inside MXXX, but it's obviously gonna be way more complicated and cumbersome.
In Relayer it is so incredibly easy to create several delay-lines (repeats) and apply different amounts of effects to each delay-line individually. To do that in MXXX would require a lot more work (insert several DelayTap modules, insert the MMultibanGranular modules, insert a Delay module (for the feedback), do all the routings, and then go to each module to change all the parameters).

soundtoys echoboy + crystallizer

if you re usng ableton and max4live you can find a lot of granular devices, for example those one, in real time

or

https://cycling74.com/project/m4lgranular/

or another device, for stretching, but does granular style too

if u run Logic X the "delay designer" can do pretty much the same as relayer

Just put the delay on a parallel buss
turn off(or lower to mute) the dry signal so that the buss is purely playing the delay

then insert any plugin you want before, after or both on teh Delay Designer's buss

the plugin's internal feeback signal won't have an effect on it
but the sound is very close if u put a bitcrusher or whatever before the delay plugin

Relayer's gui is its main attraction, its much simpler that Delay designer's tiny GUI whilst doing the same thing
If your plugin is a Synth-edit/synth-maker creation, Say So.
If not Make a Mac version of your Plugins Please.

similar rather than same, i'd say...

Thanks for the suggestions, guys!

I'm on PC, so I don't have Logic.

Yes, Shift2 is pretty interesting, but it's not really what I was looking for. Although granular-based, it is more of a pitch-shifter delay. Its granular engine works only when the pitch is modified.
Interesting stuff, but what I'm looking for is a multi-tap delay with the possibility to apply different amounts of granular-based effects to each delay-line individually.

Cheers

MMultiband Granular by itself has plenty of modulation, transformation, bands and voices on its own; creates less of a harmonic 'reverb' style than Relayer, more unpredictable and fun if you like surprises. Does a lot with percussion & simple melodies/chords.

Yes, MMultiBandGranular is a very powerful and interesting plugin. I use it a lot. It's the first plugin I bought from Melda.
But it's not very intuitive and to obtain some of the stuff I want, something like Relayer with a granular module would be way more handy.
As I said earlier (probably you missed that part), I could obtain something similar using MMBGranular and MMBDelay inside MXXX, but that will take a lot more work.
