Made this simple little instrumental synth piece today when playing around with Hybrid 3

I have not made public any of my stuff on this sub-forum so far, hope you like this little sketch

it sounds like a nice beginning to a pleasant tune.

i wonder why more kvr members that i see over in the instruments
area boasting so much knowledge of virtual instruments never
post any music here.

Hehe, that's why I am here now, I lack the knowledge and interst to TALK about virtual instruments beyond a certain level

For other people it is probably easier to talk about every detail of them than to actually make music with them.

I downsized my setup dramatically during the past week, which has already helped me stop wasting time on programming countless patches I never use anyway. I guess that theoretical side of it was just an excuse for me to not sit down and work on melodies etc., which is much more difficult for me as I lack any musical background, I play strictly by ear

Yes, I think I will try and make more of that piece

Just have to figure out which genre, it sounds rather modern for an old guy like me

But, modesty apart, I think there is something to it...

Btw, I thought that you hate trance in all forms, but this sounds very trancey to me

Yes, as I said, I know it sounds way too modern for me, I don't really know what more to do with that melody, frankly

I think it is the pluck kind of sound that makes it sound like EDM. Maybe I should replace it by a piano

I confused the Air synths by the way, it was two instances of Xpand, not Hybrid

Yeah, I didn't even bother fading it out, just exported the loop

I have come to doubt it will ever be more than a teaser because it is just not my type of music, I am into old-skool "Black Music" with lyrics. Like every Saturday I was just listening to SOS Band and Imagination stuff from the 80s, now that's my world

Was just working on my synth patch for emulating an electric bass on an "analog" synth (it's all Sylenth1), and found this little sketch funny, in a weird way

Like with the first sketch I don't really know what to do with it, frankly

I know that song well, love the bass

No idea how and why anyone would cover that, it's great as it is, I would not want to butcher it

Its shaping up to be quite the funky groove so far Fluff, I always work on a piece hours at a time comong back a day or 2 later adding something new. keep at it!

The problem with that is that after hearing my stuff a certain number of times, I don't want to hear it no more. So I really have to force myself to work on it.
I am not overly into certain aspects of making music, especially dynamics such as compression and gain staging, which makes me postpone or even avoid those tasks, i.e. I never really finish anything

i hear ya, but think about it.... is any music ever really finished?
