Keep in mind that an envelope follower is basically a lowpass filter.
Interesting, how would you use it as an envelope follower for modulation?

You wouldn't, because Falcon doesn't have audio input.

I was really excited to see this, hoping that overlapping notes on the same midi channel would still be able to be pitch bent (when using a mono legato patch for example). But unfortunately this isn't the case. any subsequent note on the same midi channel that overlapped a previous note, can not bend still. Was this the fix that was meant?

Post

with mono legato set in Falcon, you don't need MPE in that case, no ?
A regular one channel keyboard without the script will work just fine

I don't follow. Why would I not want to use MPE functionality just because a patch is mono? I want to do all the same things as I would with a polyphonic patch. Mainly I want to pitch glide from one note to another and do vibrato with my finger at the note itself, and I want to use the Y-axis for modulation (I may want to change an existing polyphonic patch into mono legato and use the same modulation assignments). I don't really understand how just not using the MPE script and an MPE compatible controller is a solution for not being able to use MPE functionality in mono mode.

The initial note works just fine, in that you can glide it to other notes. However any legato note does not. The point of mono legato patches is that you're able to quickly play consecutive notes that cut off the previous note. It's usually an ending note, or at least one that isn't the first of a phrase, where you'd want to apply the vibrato or do a glide. But can't unfortunately with Falcon.

Correct, hence me querying the post about an envelope follower

@Echoes in the Attic

This is tricky. Will check if I can do something about this.

Great, thanks for looking into it. :)

I can not believe how long this thread has become! I can see why as Faclon is a seriously amazing VI.

I have a question about scripting that I can seem to solve. Is it possible to add custom metering using the UVI Lua script, or do we have to rely on the built in UVI meters?

Sorry, I am a newb at scripting so I am just learning.

Thanks!

There is no meters widgets available in the script
