Ok so I’m trying to remake a distorted synth that you can hear in some Axwell songs I think
For example :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ay5GI4RbVTw at 1:44 and through the song (listen at 1:30 before so that you can know what I’m talking about)

And here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7dIBfw9HAU 0:30 and through the song (I’m pretty much sure it’s the same song)

I really love that sound and I’m trying to remake it. I think I can hear some bitcrusher and phaser as well here. Here’s my try:

Started 10 minutes ago with Sylenth1 and Logic’s built-in bitcrusher and phaser. Three saw waves osc with different settings (detuning and stuff like this) for the original sound by the way. I think I can get closer, any tips ? His sound is definitely going through some distorsion but it sounds so pure at the same time.

Well I guess I got what I want finally !

The lead is not very good but the chords synth is really close to Axwell's synth now. I needed to work a bit more on it.

Ok so finally I was able to get the sound I want ! That’s almost 100% the same as in Wild Ones (which was produced by Axwell in case you guys don’t know!)

I’ll have to improve the mix later but when it comes to the sound itself I’m done. Here’s how to do it :
Start with the chords, as I said I used Sylenth1 for this part (set three saw waves osc, set detuning and chorus as well to make it less agressive)
For the lead I took a very simple preset from Logic’s ES2 (Fair Brass) but you can remake it with any other synth - just use the most basic brass preset you can find in case you don’t want to remake it.
With the chords and lead it should sound like this :

Then duplicate the chords synth and add phaser, bit crusher, EQ it and set the bit crusher to make it sound like it’s played on a very old radio for example or something like that. I made this :

Then add the distorted synth to the original chords + lead and you’re done with it. I really like that sound.
