Since it's a hardware emulation, I doubt that, even if the original thing had a sample import of sorts. This is a product that emulates a certain vibe and sound.

Maybe you should look at Geist or Groove Machine for sample import. If you buy Computer Music, you get a version of Groove Machine with less samples, but the functionality to load 2 samples per pad. Though there's only 6 or 4 pads if I remember.

Their Hand Clapper loads user sample : https://www.audiothing.net/instruments/hand-clapper/

..very simple yet likely very effective for creative use on it own right

I beg you to watch from the half part of this overview in where it shows the sound design possibilities offered by this instrument ...as a tool for sample design for instance..:

https://www.audiothing.net/instruments/hand-clapper/

On that respect it is a very interesting little thingie, me thinks...

I didn't know that. Interesting! :hyper:

gotta love that little SEQ that can be dragged onto a midi track

u should make a Logic X-Midi-FX that has the same SEQ functionality
No sorry, as Aryaroman said this is an emulation of the real SR-88.
Hand Clapper loads external samples because it's a different approach/different kind of emulation. It has both 808, 909 and HC2 samples in it (which are actually just the noise "triggers" which are then repeated with the repetition module). If you are interested in Hand Clapper maybe wait a couple of weeks though... :ud: (shhh...)

But don't worry, we are working on a new drum machine with custom sample loading, the sequencer like SR-88/Latin Percussion, and also an euclidean sequencer! Here's a sneak peek using SR-88 sounds:

Still lots of work to do though...

I've always wanted a simply working drum machine, that loads custom samples, with a sequencer like that!

It might be early, but can you say what the pricing will be around? Probably more than the price of an emulation like the SR-88?

I know this is obvious and unnescessary to even mention, but please, make it stable and reliable. I hate how unstable TX16W and Grace are, while also being ridiculous CPU-hogs.

Hard to say but yes, it will definitely cost more but can't really say anything right now. I'm still working on all the specs and features, for example if I can include both normal and euclidean sequencer, or do separate plugins, or what kind of controls for each sample.
My focus is always on ease of use and CPU efficiency :)

If I can get my hands on one, perhaps :)
