Hello!
I am new here; please bare with me.
I'm trying to get a keyboard sound that is very similar to the one commonly used by Hall & Oates. I have tried many different keyboard/piano sounds but none of them quite sound like this.
I have an example of what I'm trying to achieve right here:Hall & Oates Keys.
Could anyone provide some help in how to achieve this sound?
Thanks!

Hm, to me it sounds more "pianoy" than either of those... perhaps it's layered?

I think it's a CP 70 electric grand.

I don't know many sample libraries of that, but XLN Keys has a very nice CP-70 Electric Grand, if you don't have a one.Jean Of mArc wrote:Hey, that could be! Thanks for the suggestion!
To add, if you're in for more of that Hall & Oates sound/80s vibe, then definetely check out for a CR-78 and the free PG-8X VSTi. It's very popular and frequently updated.

It's based on the JX-8P, which was a favorite of them. In fact, (their best song, if you ask me) Out Of Touch was written because of it according to John Oates.

Hey Aryaroman, thanks for the solid response! Sorry it took me a while to get to it, haha! Checking out the CP-70 Electric Grand, that sounds great! Also, downloading the PG-8X you recommended, free is a great price!
Thanks again for all your help!
