That's the motto I told myself after every East/West sale. (Now I have Composer's Cloud so the sales are moot).
Don't tempt me, I just bought Orange Tree Samples Evolution Dracus!

Check the re-sellers, don't check the re-sellers. I don't care.

"what do I really need?"ATN69 wrote:I have Serum but not Codex. I never tried Codex. I do get the feeling that Codex is a good synth but I saw comments about it's GUI size and I listened to a number of demos. The sound seems to lack the clarity that Serum has. I did get Elements 2 and that one also have a slightly small GUI. It also lack some of the clarity (not saying it's a bad thing). It has its own character. I found that Elements 2 is not shy to use CPU Power but other people claim that Codex is not so CPU hungry. For the Aural Exciter I can't say much yet. I bought it this morning but I need to install it and test it once I get home from office ...Kalamata Kid wrote:for me it is the Aural ExciterATS wrote:Aural Exciter is what I am tempted to get too!ATN69 wrote:I see ..I didn't read the terms. Well, it's fair enough because it was a nice gesture from Waves. I got the Aural Exciter and I also have my Eye on the compressor called API 2500. Maybe I grab that one to.

Or
Codex

What's a guy to do?
I do not have Serum so I am leaning more towards Codex.
Need advice!
I was also a bit interested in Codex but I do have many synth plugins already (including Serum). But the price is very attractive. I do need to ask myself several times "what do I really need?" ..and I did not have any exciter. I have several compressors but none that is really good for bus compression, so I also got the AIP 2500.
I do not need Aural Exciter
I do not need Codex
Very likely pass up this sale.
Yes, the sale offers good deals but I have plugins that need my attention and are not getting it.
I know it is cruel not to pay attention to my plugins but what's a guy to do that has little time for such activity.
What I really need it TIME!

Well spoken!
I guess I feel kinda the same, that's why I'm weighing up between the two CLAs and Butch Vig Vocals... so it's a pocket money treat rather than a huge investment (potential future WUP notwithstanding...)

Just got Codex from a plugin retailer.
After the order I went and added another Waves sale plugin to a new cart, then successfully applied the code again. Multiple use?

Fortunately I had the inspiration to try Codex out. It seems my mid-2012 MBPro can't handle it.
I get about 30% CPU Hit with 1 x Codex & 1 x Blackhole reverb in a project with only one track. Guess
that settles it...
I might go for some effect though.

I've wanted Vocal Rider for a while now and this sale was my opportunity.
However, after I had it in my basket I decided to swap it for WLM.
Why? I've no idea.

Can anyone give me some advice on what to buy on waves sale? I'm just looking to get one of them for $50 with the coupon so $99.
I already have gold bundle and was thinking it was a toss up between NLS, TG12345, or Reel ADT. Honestly I was even thinking of getting the one knob series as some of those looked like they would definitely be getting some use.
Let me know what you guys think. Only 13 hours to go. Thanks

I'd go with NLS if you don't already have something like that. TG12345 is really level sensitive, and when driven hard, is not pleasant sounding like some other modeled plugs. ReelADT is cool, but is a bit processor heavy.

I really think one knob would be the most fun and it's really cheap right now. I am leaning toward getting ADT myself since eventually I will upgrade to mercury and that is not in that bundle.

I'm almost certain that NI is gonna have their big sale in August. It has happened beforeVitaminD wrote:Because it's not really the full Summer of Sound sale.. it appears to be a sale only on full (non-upgrade) versions of Komplete. Hopefully July shows us a more thorough sale from NI..telecharge wrote:It's on their home page.Aryaroman wrote: Does anyone know if NI has the Summer of Sound-sale on Komplete this year?

The few here who commented on it seemed nonplussed.
during that month. Their current Komplete promo ends July 31st and they don't run software sales
in parallel - so July is improbable.

Heads Up: Confirmed - I've used the GIFT50 code at 2 different online shops. Had to register the activation at Waves.com so they didn't seem to have a problem with it.
The code is multiple use as far as I can see.
