Square Waves

Hey guys, so I've noticed that when you play square waves on lower octaves, it sounds very detuned from the original pitch. When making basses, this can get pretty annoying. Any tips for fixing this issue other than pairing it up with different waveforms?

this sounds like bad monitoring set up to me. This shouldn't be the case. Unless your synth is malfunctioning.

I mean, I'm running krk rokit 8's and it sounds the same whether I use my hardware synths or my software synths. Would the angle of monitors have something to do with it?

Are you talking about square or pulse? When you change the pw, that sometimes creates the illusion that the pitch changes.
The filter cutoff can also do that.

I'm talking about the square wave, not medium or thin pulse waveforms. Thanks for the tip btw, seems like resonance on the filter kind of gave it a different tone and made it sounds weird.fluffy_little_something wrote:Are you talking about square or pulse?
