well, not so much presets as it is '32 multi-sampled instruments', within each multi-sample instrument you could have many more actual 'presets' ... whether you create them yourself or whether they come with the multi-sample library. I guess they'd have advertised that if they had a bunch of presets for each multi-sample.
makes me wonder about the legality of such a thing though, they are using the name and likeness of a unit that is still in production to sell their library... not saying it shouldn't be legal, but i am curious. and then they admit to shit like "Almost all of the patches we made were created from scratch, with the exception of a small handful of presets (shoutout to Jimmy Edgar)" ... hehe... ya, shoutout to Jimmy Edgar. Maybe Jimmy Edgar doesn't give a f**k, but I'm sure for many sound designers if you took their product, simply tweaked it a bit and then resampled it - a 'shoutout' would not exactly be the kind of compensation they might want.

I heard Jimmy Edgar gets paid in shout outs and big ups. Big up, Jimmy Edgar! Cha-Ching!

So I got super lucky in that the shop near me got a few in out of nowhere today, just enough to satisfy their reserve orders - and one of the people who had it on reserve cancelled it yesterday!
One thing I found interesting: I went to update the firmware to 1.11 from the website, and it tells me the firmware of the machine is 1.13! I wonder what's been changed?

a set of tubes, one for each voice, modded in to the signal chain and sitting prominently on the face of this build would be the pièce de résistanceMushy Mushy wrote:New from notKorg, the Kaogulator.

He certainly has an imagination and the skills to match. Can't wait to see what he finally comes up with.Daags wrote:a set of tubes, one for each voice, modded in to the signal chain and sitting prominently on the face of this build would be the pièce de résistanceMushy Mushy wrote:New from notKorg, the Kaogulator.

N00b question here, as I don't know much about the Minilogue (be nice )
When having two VA synths in the Waldorf Blofeld and M-Audio Venom already, what will I gain when getting a Minilogue? - apart from being analog, but I doubt I'll be able to tell the difference anyway. Don't really care what technology they base the synth on, I just want something that's editable and sounds good

Surely there at cheaper and faster ways to ruin a good synth...Mushy Mushy wrote:He certainly has an imagination and the skills to match. It depends how it's used. If the tubes are used to replace opamps for amplification, it could sound incredible. If the tubes are low voltage distortion generators, like what Korg has normally done with their tube-loaded synths, then I personally don't think it'd be very cool.

Excellent. Just the kinds of things that make proud owners even happier. Now if Korg will make a rack version, this potential owner will be happy too.

Yes but he's obviously enjoying the process of modding it.masterhiggins wrote:Surely there at cheaper and faster ways to ruin a good synth...Mushy Mushy wrote:He certainly has an imagination and the skills to match. You would play it, he wants to mod it. Simply different ways to enjoy it IMO.
