Cool thread. I love such kind of threads.
.... and I LOVE pics!
I'm on the fence on grabbing one of the EH B, C, Mel pedals - probably the Mel9. This thing is silly:

This will be the way that I'd use it:

I'm playing in a 4-guys-acoustical-cover-band (see signature) and sometimes there's a kind of a "lack of sound"... you know. We're doing a very cool Hooters-Cover-Version of Don Henley's "Boys of summer":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cflGHmlATe8
Well, it lacks a bit ... something (without any Keys or Piano or e-guitars). Full sound is what I'm lookig for. And I hope we can fill the gap using this little pedal. And I think it should work out out quite fine!
Cheers Jens

I think I've heard dozens of better covers of that song by local pub bands. Anyhow, the EH stuff is pretty awesome.

Oops, sorry . Didn't mean to be negative. It's always a matter of preference for sure.MountainKing wrote:OK, just a matter of taste as I assume....I think I've heard dozens of better covers of that song by local pub bands.

The last cover band I played in (which was quite a while ago), they brought up doing "The Boys of Summer" and were wanting to do the Ataris remake. I played keyboards in that particular lineup, and I was like, "Really? Unlike most bands around here, you have a keyboard player who can do all those synth pads and such in the midsection and you want to do the punk version instead of the original Don Henley version?"

I always found it funny that The Ataris failed to recognize themselves as the boys of Summer, fleeting and insubstantive.

With the Moog Minifooger Drive, what's the deal with the different cases? Which is newer and is there any internal difference?

The all black is the older one, the black and white is the newer one.
I never had the chance of opening and comparing the old and the new look side by side, so I can say nothing about the internals, but - as far as I remember - when they announced the new look they said nothing about revised electronics, so it should be just a cosmetic change.
Probably the new look makes it easier to identify each model (the white shapes are different), kinda like the rocker switch colour on the MoogerFooger line.

Thanks. Prices are varying a lot in the UK so if there's no internal difference, it could be worth getting the older one as it's £20 cheaper.

This is 100% accurate.sin night wrote:The all black is the older one, the black and white is the newer one.

Plus these aren't very popular and Moog was hoping a less generic look would get them some attention.Probably the new look makes it easier to identify each model (the white shapes are different), kinda like the rocker switch colour on the MoogerFooger line.
