There is a zoom function to be able to zoom out and make the session view smaller. Though when I try this, everything gets blurry. From 100% to 99% (100% being normal) the text and everything gets blurry. Anyone know why?

Anti-aliasing.
The fonts and icons are designed to look sharp at their native resolution, 100%. As soon as you zoom either way, decisions have to be made as to where the pixels go, nothing fits nicely into the pixel grid anymore. To combat the blockiness this introduces, anti-aliasing is used to fill in some of the sharp edges with lighter coloured pixels to smooth things out. Works to a point but, as you've observed, one mans smoothing is another mans blurriness.
Things should be sharp at 50% or 200%.
